China’s Communist Party is again seizing factory lines churning out the world’s supply of medical safety gear — sparking fears the country is preparing for a second wave of the coronavirus, American traders in China told The Post.
New Yorker Moshe Malamud, who has done business in China for over two decades, was moving tens of millions of pieces of protective gear to the U.S. at the height of the crisis but said suppliers in recent weeks had been overwhelmed with orders from the Chinese government.
“I was placing a larger order with one of the bigger distributors and he tells me, ‘I can complete this order but after this we’ve been contracted by the Chinese government to produce 250 million gowns,'” said Malamud, who lived in China for a decade before founding aviation company M2Jets.

So figure about six weeks into the future....the same ‘belief’ will start up here in the US, and various governors will be chatter-boxes about the impending wave and the next shut-down.

California has received less than 2% of its masks so far, none of them N95. The manufacturer, who has never before made medical or PPE products, stopped shipment when the FDA announced they would be verifying compliance with NIOSH standards. Gee, I wonder why?
The Chinese will stamp whatever certification you want on a mask, though it has nothing to do with how it will perform...

It’s not our balls, it’s our industry. We couldn’t build those aircraft carriers today because we don’t have the shipyards to build them.
But China does.
In WWII companies were mostly run by engineers. Since the introduction of massive amounts of college students with degrees but no experience, companies have been run by MBA’s.
Engineers run the company on intuition, guts and building a great product. MBA’s are concerned with the bottom line, bonuses and whatever will sell.
BTW, the way contracts are g awarded, with minority set-asides and gay outreach as the primary goals, building 100 carriers would bankrupt the nation.
