Biden to give virtual interview with Colbert on Thursday
The Hill ^ | 05 20 2020 | Joe Concha

Joe Biden is scheduled to appear on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on Thursday, marking the former vice president's fifth visit to the program and first since becoming the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Biden's appearance will be virtual from his Wilmington, Del., home, where he has been conducting his campaign for more than two months since the coronavirus pandemic prompted stay-at-home orders throughout the country.

Biden recently conducted a virtual town hall with Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams on MSNBC on Friday.

President Trump, whose reelection has also largely moved online during the pandemic, has not appeared on any of the late-night talk shows since taking office.

Right now, Colberts' writing team is writing the questions AND answers so Biden can throw in a few 'impromptu zinggers'.

Scripted from beginning to end.

They will have to pre-record it. Because I’ve seen Biden try to read a script. He used to be good at it. Now he has a lot of trouble. The words are right in front of him, and he bobbles it. This interview will require multiple “takes”.

The image of Max Headroom comes to mind.

Colbert is a sleazy partisan hack.

Sad, because I heard nothing but good things concerning his brother, who was a local school teacher.

“Colberts’ writing team is writing the questions AND answers”

That’s no guarantee biden won’t muck it up. Good thing they can edit.

“where he has been conducting his campaign for more than two months”

Imagine a republican doing the same thing. I suspect coldbert wouldn’t treat it the same way.

And we are ok with that

They’ll have to shoo all the birds away, put all cell phones on “silent,” and keep Chauncey Gardner out of the camera view, too.

Nothing but a liberal slobberfest. Two boot licking democrats, spouting the latest party talking points.
How’s that for scintillating television?

Virtual interview? What a pathetic excuse for a man. What a disgusting wimp. And that goes for both of them!

A sleepy guy will be talking to a rude smart aleck. How in the world will the sleepy guy be able to hold his own?

It will be just as you said. It will all be scripted ahead of time.

Since I already know how it will end, I’ll be watching a ‘Columbo’ rerun instead. It’s the one where Columbo investigates missing federal emails.

Sylvester and Wile E. Coyote telling each other how smart they are. Along comes Tweety (President Trump) and Roadrunner (Jim Jordan) to interrupt!

Yup. Will be the furthest thing from live. Lots of editing.

Which, I think, makes it more of a commercial and should be subject to campaign finance laws.

“rude smart aleck”

We had a way of correcting that annoying behaviour back in my school days. Afterwards they were usually very quiet and polite.
