Yup. Used to go to the strip club, buy fish at Safeway, un-package it, put it in the cooler, go home and have dinner and still be money ahead.

It’s their store. It is kind of weird that they went all the way through the lockdown as one of the few places open without it. But in the end it’s their call to make. Don’t like cancel your membership.

Your Governor Shitmer is nowhere near as bad as Kim Jung Pritzker.

Exactly right! Personally I think all the push on masks is malarkey, one minute the CDC says they do nothing for healthy people and the next they flipflop, but if a private business says I need to wear one to enter I respect their wishes or don’t shop there. As for Costco, they have even more say being a membership store and when you join you agree to abide by their rules.

Their business, their rules. Don’t like it, shop somewhere else.

They are just trying to maximize their appeal to their customer base. That many of their customers are in hysterics about this virus isn’t their fault.

I’m exactly the same. It’s The only place I wear one but if this goes on much longer I’ll stop shopping there all together.

I spend over $1k per month at Costco and will let all those executives know I will cancel my membership if they allow ignorant dumbasses into Costco without facemask.

Thanks, Karen.

Folks...Please...if that is Costco company policy they HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO SO. I am 100% not going to wear a mask but I DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to go into a PRIVATE BUSINESS that does not have a LAW prohibiting it from telling me that as a condition of going there they want me to wear a mask.

So, do we not even have a right to complain about this idiotic policy?

That right there is the part that frustrates me. If it doesn’t have clear eye openings and replaceable canisters, it’s only for show.

Not entirely. If you are infected, and cough or sneeze it will assist in localizing the dispersion of particulates. That is what masks are actually for. However, if you are infected, and are contagious, you probably shouldn't be out shopping at Costco.

I did some research. These masks everybody is wearing are for big stuff, like bacteria. It’s why medical personnel use them.

And if I’m wearing a mask and I cough or sneeze, I pull the mask down first. Seriously.

You do realize masks don’t do anything.

I saw a meme that says wearing a mask to stop the Wuhan virus is like putting up a chain link fence to stop mosquitoes.

I live just east of Houston. The only time there is a line is on Tuesday-Thursday when senior citizens get to go in one hour early. They may have ended that program sense there is plenty of TP and paper towels.

Costco has put limits on the purchase of beef, port and chicken, but that is plenty unless you are trying to hoard it.

Toilet paper is still one case per membership per day, but there is plenty of water. There was an entire aisle of water stored in the racks above the area where they have water on the floor.

As long as thy have Kirkland brand alkaline water, I’m good with that. It is so refreshing and 1/3 less than the next cheapest place. So refreshing we hardly ever drink soda anymore.

“The World Health Organization [WHO] and the CDC [The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] have reaffirmed in the last few days is that they do not recommend the general public wear masks.”

Used to live where it was very warm and humid every day of the year so I took to wearing shorts all the time - but no underwear ever. Gives you a breezy feeling...

You might enjoy wearing a kilt if you like that 'breezy feeling'. I have 2.

Uh.. people have died. That number is wildly inflated. No its not the flu but frankly its more mild than most any of the Pandemics of the last 30 years.

I go to the Sugar Land location. I have been back in my office for almost a month now, and I can only go on the weekends when it is crowded. Sam’s does the limited # of shoppers thing as well, but I can usually get in and they are very near my house. I just wish Sam’s was as good as Costco.

Nice. At least this response was reasonably polite. Still somewhat confrontational and abrasive, but much less so.

That I was making an observation is not policing, and to decry the level of discourse while continuing a series of...less than agreeable posts is the most beautiful example of irony I have seen in a long time.

Have the type of day you deserve. I must get back to sleep. I have to work tonight. In a hospital. I wear a mask ONLY if directly involved with a patient.

Each of you are correct in ponting out my flaw of NOT adding that the right to complain and or hold the accountable in the public square is absolute too.

Just so you hear why I said this the man in the video does not look like he had any disability or any other such qualifier to claim CostCo could not do this...he started speaking to his rights as an American. Its really more to his reaction I posted what I said.

However that may be it would have been better had I added that at the beginning and also added how to make the Company aware of our dislike of this policy as both being necessary.

Cheers my fellow Freepers

"Because it DOESN’T work, any of it. It is pure b.s. fear-mongering crap. Inflated, bogus “death tolls”, hyping up the deaths as though 83-year old people don’t die of assorted viruses every damned day. The difference is that now, our “leaders” are trying to convince everyone that they are directly responsible for keeping everyone else alive by submitting to all of this ridiculous crap."

And yet I received a communication from the company my wife works for which has an Italian subsidiary saying that said subsidiary got through the whole Italian Covid surbe with NO infections, simply using internal distancing, masks, and stringent handwashing and disinfection. You are wrong.
