President Barack Obamas Treasury Department regularly surveilled retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynns financial records and transactions beginning in December 2015 and well into 2017, before, during and after when he served at the White House as President Donald Trumps National Security Director, a former senior Treasury Department official, and veteran of the intelligence community, told the Star Newspapers.
I started seeing things that were not correct, so I did my own little investigation, because I wanted to make sure what I was seeing was correct she said. You never want to draw attention to something if there is not anything there.
The whistleblower said she only saw metadata, that is names and dates when the generals financial records were accessed. I never saw what they saw.
By March 2016, the whistleblower said she and a colleague, who was detailed to Treasury from the intelligence community, became convinced that the surveillance of Flynn was not tied to legitimate criminal or national security concerns, but was straight-up political surveillance among other illegal activity occurring at Treasury.
When I showed it to her, what she said, Oh, sh%t! and I knew right then and there that I was right this was some shady stuff, the whistleblower said.
It wasnt just him, the whistleblower said. They were targeting other U.S. citizens, as well.
Only two names are listed in the whistleblowers official paperwork, so the others must remain sealed, she said. The second name is Paul J. Manafort Jr., the one-time chairman of Trumps 2016 presidential campaign.
The other names include: Members of Congress, the most senior staffers on the 2016 Trump campaign and members of Trumps family, she said.

Funny, how she went to an Inspector General, and nothing was done.
Its the publics job to hold politicians that do this accountable. The public never does.
You wind the internet for the day. Nailed it.
I commented on another thread about my stance of “live and let live” as long as they don’t bring that stuff to my doorstep. I was rightly corrected by another FR person that that attitude has played a part it why we’re in the situation that we are. For me, the biggest issues are immigration, of all kinds, to include these absolutely ridiculous refugee programs we pay for and the way folks have moved about the country, chasing jobs or lower costs of living, only to bring the BS they left behind with them and changing the voting demographics. It’s happening here in Georgia at an alarming rate. Whether it’s by accident or by design, the Left is infecting every corner of the country. Everyone on here knows the states that have been ruined by its ideology.
And, to your point, the Left and Dem’s do not care about any criminal conduct perpetrated by one of their own. They will circle the wagons for one and all, as long as they have a D after their name or they’ve demonstrated their fealty to the cause. Us, on the Right, we’ll toss a brother under the bus so fast it’ll make your head spin. Doesn’t matter if it turns out to be false.
Love that.
Agency Employees regularly change agencies so that it appears they are not working for the agency.... Most of the agency employees I know or have known regularly change agencies and spend fully half their time being washed and cleansed of stench all the while performing information gathering duties.
How could a March 2017 complaint be a followup to the August 2017 one of the same year?
Do they mean Aug 2016?
Or March 2018?
Hi piasa, what part of the table is the error in? I am thinking it was simply a transcription error on my part, but I can’t find it (I looked at all 2017 dates and comments looking to see if context fits, but just can’t find it. Can you copy and paste the text?
I am certain it is an error on my part...
They got worried when Trump won two primaries...
From the article:
Complaint filed with Treasury Inspector General
In March 2017, she filed a formal whistleblower complaint with Acting Treasury Inspector General Richard K. Delmar, who continues in that office today, she said. Beyond Delmar acknowledging receipt of the complaint, the inspector general never followed up on the matter.
This formal complaint was a follow-up to an August 2017 [probably 2016?] notification to Delmar that did not meet the full requirements of formal complaint, but it provided Delmar with the details of Treasurys surveillance of Flynn, she said.
The whistleblower filed a subsequent complaints with the Office of Special Counsel May 2017, which is the permanent office established to work with whistleblowers and is not related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
I would like to see who this person Richard K. Delmar is.

Yep... just a typo, the article says 2016 not 2017:
This formal complaint was a follow-up to an August 2016 notification to Delmar that did not meet the full requirements of formal complaint, but it provided Delmar with the details of Treasurys surveillance of Flynn, she said.
Thank you...my head was swimming with dates for a while!

House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Wednesday, during a contentious exchange at a hearing, asked fellow committee member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) why his wife [Sarah Bloom Raskin], a former Treasury Department official, unmasked Michael Flynn. Jordan had just finished questioning Google CEO Sundar Pichai over the search engine’s bias against conservatives and whether he would commit to not interfering in the upcoming election to help Joe Biden. After Jordan finished his questioning, Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) called his concerns “fringe conspiracy theories.”
