Risk of coronavirus spreading in schools is 'extremely low' study finds

Coronavirus does not spread widely in schools, according to a major study which is being considered by Government advisers.

The research looked at 18 infected teachers and students in 15 schools, and found that despite them coming into contact with 863 people at the schools, only two were infected.

It is the only major study of transmission among children and teachers, and shows that the spread of the virus is "limited" in classrooms. Previous studies have suggested that younger children are likely to only contract a mild form of coronavirus and do not play a major role in the spread of the disease, but this is the first time the spread of Covid-19 has been directly studied in primary and secondary schools.

It comes as the government is locked in a battle with teaching unions over plans for primary school children in reception, years 1 and 6 in England to return from June 1. Union bosses have insisted classrooms will not be safe and have ordered their members not to "engage" with the plans, while some Labour councils have also said that they will refuse to reopen schools.

On Sunday, Michael Gove sought to reassure worried teachers and parents, insisting that the “clear scientific and clinical advice” was that it was safe for school to reopen providing social distancing is enforced

"Children only have one chance at education. Over the last decade we have made significant strides in closing the gap between the richest and poorest in our schools. This lockdown has put that at risk,” the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster told the Andrew Marr Show. "If progressive countries like Denmark can be teaching children and have them back in schools, then so should we..."

This is good news for children and everyone who cars about them.

But it's horrible news for the totalitarian control freaks who want to keep everything locked down for as long as possible.

This article is a huge pile of baloney. Schools are perfect petri dishes with kids showing disdain for common hygiene practices, far from perfect janitorial cleaning, lockers and desks chock full of discarded food and wrappers, many teachers and other personnel with chronic health conditions, and inadequate ventilation. More than 50 educators and other school employees have died from COVID so far in NYC, including a retired friend of mine.

Dont tell that to Cuomo. He has shut down schools for the rest of the year for no reason at all. And he did all that while sending Covid 19 positive patients to nursing homes to infect the old folks and kill them off.

For full article, read the link above. These are excerpts!

Blaylock: Face Masks Pose Serious Risks To The Healthy

Dr. Russell Blaylock warns that not only do face masks fail to protect the healthy from getting sick, but they also create serious health risks to the wearer. The bottom line is that if you are not sick, you should not wear a face mask.

As businesses reopen, many are requiring shoppers and employees to wear a face mask. Costco, for instance, will not allow shoppers into the store without wearing a face mask. Many employers are requiring all employees to wear a face mask while at work. In some jurisdictions, all citizens must wear a face mask if they are outside of their own home.

By wearing a mask, the exhaled viruses will not be able to escape and will concentrate in the nasal passages, enter the olfactory nerves and travel into the brain.

As for the scientific support for the use of face mask, a recent careful examination of the literature, in which 17 of the best studies were analyzed, concluded that, “ None of the studies established a conclusive relationship between mask/respirator use and protection against influenza infection.”1 Keep in mind, no studies have been done to demonstrate that either a cloth mask or the N95 mask has any effect on transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Any recommendations, therefore, have to be based on studies of influenza virus transmission. And, as you have seen, there is no conclusive evidence of their efficiency in controlling flu virus transmission.

So tell us, what percentage of coronavirus deaths and infections are school going kids?
Did you even read the article before posting your pro lockdowns propaganda drive by trolling?

Coronavirus does not spread widely in schools,

Nor does intelligence.

Whatever schools are petri dishes for colds and flu -every year you get colds when the kids go back to school.
Somehow this virus isn’t going to do the same thing, just doesn’t pass the smell test.

There are those who knew precisely the limited and high risks of this from the beginning but chose to spread fear and take control. All of this would have been handled differently under a Democrat president.

Take the opportunity to homeschool and protect your kids from the leftist brainwashing. It’s the conservative thing to do.

The school where I teach has 3600 students. My class sizes run about 32-35 per class with 170+ students per day. I’m pretty convinced COVID-19 swept through my school in late February/early March. Massive amount of kids out with a virus that was NOT flu. Granted this is not scientific, but I’m pretty sure the study in this article leaves a lot to be desired. PS, I got sick too, and it was awful. Out for several days, and I NEVER take off.

The study failed to take into account one major reason for wearing masks—to reduce the initial viral load from the infection.

A lower viral load means that the immune system has a better chance of fighting the virus.

This in turn leads to better outcomes, and significantly lowers the risk of hospitalization and of course death.

If you ask the wrong question, you get the wrong answer.

I was in Costco today and had to wear a mask. After a short while, I had a horrible headache and felt ill.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/05/to-mask-or-not-to-mask.php

Mask wearing has become a form of virtue signaling. Do they do any good? Who knows? But wearing one shows that you are a slavish adherent to authority. Not wearing one suggests that you might be a rebel.

In the absence of any substantial scientific support, face mask wearing has become a largely political act. If you love authority, if you need to be told what to do–right or wrong!–you probably are wearing a mask. If you tend to be skeptical of authority (or if you remember that not long ago, the authorities were telling us not to wear masks), you likely aren’t. Like so many things in America these days, wearing face masks is more a marker than a practical action.

I failed to add in my prior post that we have the right to not be “ordered” to wear masks regardless of what our Gestapo leaders want.

Think you're funny? You're making fun of dedicated conscientious people trying to help kids, who have died as a consequence? You're about as funny as a dog turd. Grow up.

Not to mention there are a lot of employees over the age of 60 working in public schools.

So tell us, what percentage of coronavirus deaths and infections are school going kids?

Apples and oranges. NYC is a different school system than the one in the study. One doctor in a NY Post article estimated that 80% of NYC children have been infected by coronavirus, but may not be symptomatic. I know 50+ school personnel have contracted it and died, and the list gets longer all the time from prolonged cases with complications.

I could hardly be accused of "trolling", you knee-jerk moron. I am speaking from the viewpoint of having had personal discussions with teachers currently in the NYC public school system sharing their experiences. NYC schools are petri dishes for a rampant spread of any infectious disease.
