MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Conservative lawmakers in Alabama last year tried to enact the nation's most stringent abortion ban, but the attempt to outlaw the procedure may have had one ironic twist.

An Alabama-based abortion rights group used a flood of donations that poured in from across the country after the ban to purchase the state’s busiest abortion clinic to ensure it stays open.

Yellowhammer Fund — a group founded to help low-income women access abortion — announced the purchase of West Alabama Women’s Center on Friday, the one-year anniversary of the passage of the Alabama ban.

money poured in from across the country....

Sick, disgusting people.

Didn’t we all pay enough tax money or was that finally taken out of the first bailout bill? Not sure.

It was in the big federal budget bill compromise previously, along with PBS and NPR.

It’s like Americans buying a Nazi Concentration Camp after the war to keep it running.

Haven’t they heard about God’s judgment for murder of His creation? They are just being used by satan.

Haven’t they heard about God’s judgment for murder of His creation? They are just being used by satan.

They don't see it that way. Read the comments following the article:

"...forcing a woman to have a baby she doesn't want is cruel and unusual punishment and a real violation of civil rights."

"An abortion costs a few hundred bucks, paying for welfare to prison costs far more, abortion makes good economic sense, the so called conservatives complaining about abortion are ridiculous from an economic stand point."

Apparently these people (a) haven't made the connection between having sex and having a baby and (b) see murder in pure economic terms.

No, pregnancy is an inconvenient outcome of free love and can be terminated at will.

A baby is a trivial inconvenience to be terminated at any time

Free and unemcumbered sex is all the liberals think that matters.

Liberalism must be absolutely destroyed down to the very core for America to continue.

“During this period, the sterilization of African American women largely took place in the South and assumed two forms: the sterilization of poor unwed black mothers, and “Mississippi appendectomies...”

“THAT’S RACIST!!
The donors want to ensure that the “clinic” that kills babies will continue to do so. Remember that the overwhelming numbers of children who are killed are black. Racist, indeed!
Bill Gates is a likely donor to this cause.

a group founded to help low-income women access abortion

Sensitive topic. A half century or more ago black ministers and organization such as the AME, COGIC, and the 7th Day Adventists hammered away against sexual promiscuity, infidelity, and general sexual laxness in the Black community. It was one of the pillars of the ‘Upward Striving’ platform along with cultivating middle class attitudes and behavior, literacy and education, and a general Biblically rooted philosophy of living.

All of that is gone today. The same church buildings now resound with victim theology, general anti-white/western themes, and constant emotional cries for entitlement. The ‘Great Society’ corrupted and destroyed the moral nature of much of the Black church through the really large amounts of money clergy could now gather from various ‘poverty’ programs and shakedowns (Jesse Jackson is the reincarnation of this type). All that was required was that the reverends preach the ‘right way’.

Many clergy had been made ready for this by being in a sense politicized by the Civil Rights Campaign. Increasingly during the decade from the Brown decision to the Voting Rights/Civil Rights bills of 1965 pulpit time became more and more dedicated to invocations to political activism and secular topics. This was an unintended consequence of this movement. After 1965 many clerics found ‘old style’ biblical oriented preaching and ministry to be dull and uninspiring compared with the rush of ‘holy excitement’ they had felt as the Civil Rights Movement picked up steam and drove towards the prize of legal equality for all persons. The Great Society and the general cultural disdain for middle class virtues which academia and the cultural establishment were so fond of in the sixties were crushing blows to the traditional message of personal responsibility for salvation and lading a moral and Christian life preached in Black churches since before the end of slavery.

To a degree the this was true in white society as well. Social justice preachers and ‘antiwar sermonizing became popular in many mainline Protestant churches. However, the negative impacts between the communities varied. Antinomianism, with its rejection of laws or legalism and arguments against moral, religious or social norms were generally rife from the mid sixties onward. The various demons of lust, sloth, and rage were all praised by the cultural cognoscenti, including various 'with it reverends'. These evil people did help create a partially crippled generation of dopers, lay abouts and failures in middle class white society and thus cause a lot of woe and pain for many families and early deaths for a fair number of the deluded young. It was black society that paid the highest price and goes on paying it. The weakest societal cohort acts as a sort of sociological canary in the coal mine. The near death struggles of the bird of ill omen should have been a tipoff. When Daniel Monohan called attention to the alarming decline in indices of positive social behavior (completing high school, not having children out of wedlock and not having felony conviction) and the concomitant rise of indices of anti-socialmbehaviors (the opposite of those just mentioned) he was stuck with a tidal wave of verak sewage for daring to describe the herd of elephants in our midst. Monohan became the first high profile target of the practice of Mau-Mauing, by which a public personality's argument is not addressed but instead is subjected to a barrage of vilification, lies and threats, First by back 'leaders' commence the dreck bombing and then 'progressive white liberals' commence the follow up attack. The goal is to discredit and silence those who would accurately report on the emperor's new clothes and there are few figures in our culture pugnacious enough to fire back at their tormentors and keep their message on target. For those who would drape themselves in either the clerical or secular mantle of 'black leadership' the operational code is simple. If blacks rate of completing high school is dismal as are test scores from heavily black school districts the problem is not lack of enforced discipline, authoritative class room protocols and a community united to help those who will be helped and control the others it is 'white racism' that somehow devastates the academic performance of one class after another from the ghetto. The solution more money, much more money to be controlled by 'black educators and leaders' who understand their community's needs. The same template is applied to any question or problem that arises in black America. The soaring rate of incarceration; racist police and prosecutors and an uncaring white majority. The solution, more money, much more to create and staff 'alternatives to incarceration' for 'troubled youths' administered by the usual suspects. Finally, high out of wedlock births; first it is claimed this endless process of creating generation after generation of criminal or grossly ignorant and incompetent young men and women is claimed to be some magical sociological residue the African heritage of the young women. according to this position it is a handed down tradition for the women to have children by whoever and keep the village fires burning and raise the crops while the men do their man thing of abundant drinking, drugging, copulating and fighting. Expecting those who have such a rich cultural inheritance (they don't. Black illegitimacy rates were close to white's in 1940 and the per cent of married couples per thousand was actually higher. This African heritage mantra is just another lying alibi from the permanent government types) to effectively use birth control is demeaning and insulting. Young black males dislike using condoms both because it takes the 'immediacy' out of the act and their are plenty of agitators and miscreants who push the narrative that condoms sold in black areas are made with special chemicals to make black men sterile. (It's done by the wicked Jews, naturally.) Black girls who can barely count after being socially promoted can't remember to take pills every day. So as a final gift to the black community those wise and compassionate people at Planned Parenthood get dollars for 'family planning' in black communities which means operating abortionatoriums conveniently located in the ghetto.

While I object to abortion clinics even existing, at least they did it the right way; used their own money and efforts instead of demanding that all of us fund it.

Planned Parenthood expects, no, demands substantial payoffs from Congress. Not just once a year butin every appropriation bill it can be stuck in. In return, of course, PP is very generous in donations to Democratic congress critters. So not only does the nations leading abortionist receive tax payer dollars, a good many of the dollars get recycled to help these Democrats get elected.
