Strange. My final assignment in the Air Force was commander of an engineering unit. A full third of my people were Blacks. All were graduates of reputable schools. They all did good work, and I was able to get several of them awards for their performance. What is wrong with those complaining now? Why don't they shape up and make something of themselves, like my engineers did?

For the last 18 years of my career, I taught engineering subjects and programming in a private high school. We had all the cultures in our classes. Not one student ever flunked who slugged it out and did the work.
The biggest problem we had was incoming freshmen who couldn’t add two numbers without a calculator and couldn’t read 1/16” on a student ruler.
