(Claire Russel, Liberty Headlines) San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond rejected Gov. Gavin Newsom’s argument that California needs to extend its shelter-in-place order.
“We’ve unfortunately had six pure, solely coronavirus deaths—six out of 3.3 million people,” he said in an interview this week, according to the San Diego Tribune.
The vast majority of COVID-19 “deaths” — 194 of them attributed to the virus — in San Diego County resulted from underlying conditions that made patients more vulnerable to the virus, Desmond said.
It doesn’t make sense to keep the entire county at home when the threat is no longer there and San Diego County has already successfully flattened its curve, he argued.
But he suggested that the far-left governor may have other motives that were not entirely health-related.
“I mean, what number are we trying to get to with those odds?” Desmond said.
“I mean, it’s incredible,” he continued. “We want to be safe, and we can do it, but unfortunately, it’s more about control than getting the economy going again and keeping people safe.”

We have been hearing for a couple of weeks that some California counties/cities had inflated the Corona-19 deaths in nursing homes/rest homes.
This week, a San Diego county supervisor suggested the numbers are even more inflated.
“We’ve unfortunately had six pure, solely coronavirus deaths — six out of 3.3 million people,” County Supervisor Jim Desmond said on the radio show Armstrong & Getty Extra Large Interviews., The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. San Diego County had reported roughly 190 deaths at the time — the current number is 200.

IMHO, as a retired JD, not MD, the proper way to view these deaths is whether the CCP Virus was a “but for” contributor to any one of them. Thus, if a victim was a 77 year old obese man with diabetes, the question would be “would he have died but for the Virus?” IOW, if the Virus pushed him over the cliff and he would have survived without being infected, then his death should be ascribed to the Virus; otherwise not.

Someone somewhere somehow has to get agreement on a reasonable definition of death by Covid or not by Covid.

Of course..the commies are counting ANY Death as caused by Wu Flu..people die everyday of different things, but they just count them as Wu Flu death to harm Trump, and also for the states to make a crapload of money
AND, if there was no COVID, would he have died anyway in six months? A year? These are obviously not knowable, but it is probable that COVID is not stealing many years of life from people in such bad shape.
