U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Georgia, has turned over personal stock documents and other information to federal authorities amid scrutiny over transactions she allegedly made after attending a January government briefing on the coronavirus, Fox News confirmed Thursday.
“Senator Loeffler has forwarded documents and information to DOJ, the SEC, and the Senate Ethics Committee establishing that she and her husband acted entirely appropriately and observed both the letter and the spirit of the law,” a Loeffler spokesperson told Fox, referring to the Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
“The documents and information demonstrated her and her husband’s lack of involvement in their managed accounts, as well the details of those accounts,” the spokesperson added. “Senator Loeffler has welcomed and responded to any questions from day one.”

These three members of Congress and others that traded on their insider knowledge need to be booted from Congress, lose all of their money and pensions, etc. Leave them penniless at the curb as an example to others. (And no, I don’t care that a couple of them are Republican. Bad is bad. Let’s elect replacements with better ethics and morals.

Kelly Loeffler’s husband is head of the New York Stock Exchange so you can guarantee their portfolio is managed by people who have as good or better information on the economy than Congress does. Feinstein and Burr can’t make that claim. Feinstein and Burr have also been in Congress for decades while Loeffler is an appointee finishing out someone else’s term. I’m more willing to believe her than the other 2 weasels.

She is classic establishment political crap... and if you are willing to give her some huge benefit of the doubt just because she has an R by her name you are just as much a part of the problem as the system that lets donors buy a Senate appointment for an unqualified hack in the first place.
She was appointed by Brian Kemp, current hero of the anti lockdown movement. Was he also a partisan fool? Is anybody who doesn’t goosestep to the same beat as you do a partisan fool? I’m willing to believe her because she has a believable explanation, unlike Senator Burr whose explanation is an insult to good liars. They both have R’s next to their name if that is supposed to make a difference. I don’t believe Diane Feinstein either and she has a D next to her name. Is that supposed to mean something?

You’ve been here long enough to remember such great conservative heroes as George W. Bush, John McCain, Karl Rove, Paul Ryan, even Mitt Romney. Anyone who didn’t toe the line in their cases were also fools. I consider the opinions of all FReepers valuable but also to be taken with a big ball of salt. I have nor problem with folks not towing the absolute conservative ideological line 24/7... Reality isn’t ideological. However, Kemp frankly is the type of Republican that brought the GOP to where it was before Trump.. He’s an establishment hack, and represents everything that is wrong with the political establishment. Hell, he was so bad, that even in the Deep Red state of GA, Trump had to drag him over the finish line to beat Stacey Abrams.. Because the people of GA, saw what he was, and he was the old school GOP that was completely out of touch....
Then once elected he wasted no time in proving them right, by appointing one of his donors wives to the Senate...
Kelly had no business in the Senate, and her being there is an abomination and an affront to the very concept of “draining the swamp”... Her appointment was some of the worst of Swamp behavior.
There is absolutely NO reason to give her some major benefit of the doubt just because she has an R beside her name.. in fact the way she go the job pretty much is evidence that ethics are not something that’s a high priority to her. She should be gone from the Senate, and frankly should have never been appointed.
She can have her day in front of the ethics committee or whatever, but the people trying to fall on their swords to defend this woman are simply partisan hacks. The idea she’s been targeted for what, by every measure, appear to flagrant abuse of her power for personal enrichment (which BTW is why you appoint a donor or donors spouse with zero history of public service to the senate in the first place, so they can use the position for personal enrichment) simply because of her party affiliation is nonsense.
Its just as nonsensical an argument as Katie Hill trying to claim her Drunken, Drug using, sleeping with staffer behaviors were not why she was forced out of the house, but because of sexism.
