They are nothing more than useful idiots who will be sent to the camps just like the rest of us. They will not be safe or protected because the enemy will realize that if they’d be willing to betray their own nations, they would betray their new overlords as will.
Actually, at that point, they’d probably be executed.
I agree with the executions. The REAL commies will ride them, use them, then execute them with that usefulness is done with. That is the way all invading armies do. When the Babylonians attacked Jerusalem with King Nebuchadnezzar back in that day, there were hundreds, even thousands of deserters out of Jerusalem who joined the attacking Babylonians. After Jerusalem was sacked, the Babylonians either executed them or packed them off with the rest of Judah as prisoners to be sold at market and enslaved. It always works out that way. Deserters are never looked upon as a positive, only as a useful tool.
