MANY STATE EMPLOYEES ARE NOT ESSENTIAL, STARTING IN THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE AND THE STAFF OF THE LEGISLATURE.
10%...that’s it?
How ‘bout: no pay until the reopening.
This could only improve response at the State level. It certainly won't be noticed.
This is great news. Once the gubmit employees’s union gets involved, the state will start to reconsider their position.
The article seems to imply that it is either agree to pay reductions or face furloughs. Layoffs were not mentioned but that is going to happen anyway...
70-80% would make me happier. But shocked it actually happened at all.
FIRE THEM ALL.
They should voluntarily take zero pay through November. The chance to get rid of Trump is worth it. :)
And if Trump is not defeated, the California lockdown will continue through 2024.
Fire everyone with an even State ID Number.
ML/NJ
That's the way it works. The system is disgusting.
Cut all salaries >33%, end public employee unions, freeze pensions, fire all deadbeats, then negotiate these measures based on illegal alien deportation rates. Deport more illegals, and well modify pay scales, etc..
Well as comfortably employed government employees on tv like to say to the 36M and growing unemployed from the private sector, “We are all in this together”.
I would classify this as way too little, way too late.
I have to wonder...
They are going to have to take 10% pay cut.
So, do they then get unemployment?
And do they get the $600 weekly Covid check because they were laid off for Covid reasons?
If so, they likely would be making more than if they were actually working.
As if they were actually working.
We have this scam starting here in Michigan soon.
Better yet, cut their wages 90% and give the 'savings' to illegals.
