Think we have military primacy over China? Think again.
Washington Post ^ | May 12, 2020 | David Ignatius

Here’s a fact that ought to startle every American who assumes that because we spend nearly $1 trillion each year on defense, we have primacy over our emerging rival, China.

“Over the past decade, in U.S. war games against China, the United States has a nearly perfect record: We have lost almost every single time.”

Yes, it’s from a Washington Post columnist, about a book by.a former McCain staffer. But if the US military went to war with China, presumably China would start it, and the attack would be carried out in an unexpected way.

We can add to that that cultivating fanatic nationalism, leavened by a desire for revenge for perceived humiliations by Westerners long dead almost a century ago, is increasingly how the CCP holds on to power.

Huh... this almost feels like the old “We must capitulate to Russia because anything else will lead to nuclear war and that’s unwinnable” narrative.

Of course, David Ignatius has done everything in his power to assist in destroying this nation in every aspect he can.

I would spit on him rather than listen to him.

The thing is, our entire national establishment (both parties) has been completely sold out to China, now for the entire last thirty years.

Everyone.

Think Sun Tzu instead of traditional force on force warfare. Hegemony rather than conquering.

Believe nothing this jerk says. Instead, listen to cool headed, smart analysts like Dr. George Friedman or Peter Zeihan, both formerly of Stratfor, on youtube - they will tell you just how weak China is, both economically and militarily.

What nonsense!

America is at a minimum 15 yrs ahead of China in weapons development and even further ahead in technology. Almost everything the Chinese have accomplished so far is based on stolen technology and Trump has put and end to that at least for now.

AS far as using the war games as any sort of proof? About the dumbest and most naive of things to say. It’s the same as predicting the eventual winner of the Super Bowl based on watching a few pre season games.

Its WAPOO but I agree that we don’t get much bang for our buck from our defense industry with 200 dollar hammers and emphasis on bloated expensive hundred billion dollar impractical projects that will just be stolen off a thumbdrive by china compared to other leaner nimble militaries.

Tried to tell students in high school that the way we were going, China was going to defeat us. They wouldn't study, wouldn't learn, no interest in excelling at what they did, lied, cheated, stole things and got in to drugs, alcohol and pre-marital sex. Didn't go over very well. Sometimes you just have to learn things the hard way.

Registered here under "Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin" a long time precisely for that reason and have been trying to warn folks. That hasn't gone over very well either. Oh well....

Actually, the author is correct, but a lot of you don’t want to hear it.

China would not win a war with our country. As a matter of fact there likely would be no winner at all, just a desolate polluted land scape with a few Gollums trying to gather bats to eat in China, while Alaska becomes the likely new center of US sovereignty.

China wages war on the West entire, and its never always war? Was that war we say as our economic guts tumbole intyo the Pacific? When viewing a negative aspect of health or commerce from China. China is afflicting the USA with a thousand cuts, expecting us to die. The USA just keeps bleeding, and now is the time we recognize China as an enemy in every phase of our contact with China: espionage via Education, Off shore production, Managing the Panama Canal, Computer attacks on CDC, Setting up G5 ( Huawei),intellectual property theft, control of the WHO.We need to keep China’s agents out of our country.

The real war with China is already being fought on many fronts. And this twink journalist, David Ignatius thinks we will have a “must have” a military confrontation when in fact war is already being waged.

A China virus now lays the USA low, economics destroyed, 70,000 dead, and we still don’t get it David Ignatius ?

Idiot.

War with China would be fought with bags of money and no one would notice that we lost, it wouldn’t be reported in cable news.

China is planning to survive a nuclear war. We are scared to even think about it. A nuclear war is probably inevitable. The MAD policy should be brought back. Unfortunately I’ve heard Trump talk about nuclear reductions.
