I smell a rat. Does anyone know what this is all about?

I see a lot of scare tactics being used in this piece of blatant propaganda.

It’s Bezos money. They don’t want to have to pay full freight for their packages.

If this happens, it will be the end of the USPS forever.

I wonder if this is hidden deep within Pelousi’s latest stimulus package?

Not sure when/where I read about this but at first it was supposed to counter China using the system to hurt US companies. The story claimed China could ship products to your door cheaper than a US company could from across the street.

When you order things on Ebay and they come from China, they are shipped at almost no expense via USPS to you. Half the time you do not know the origin of the product because the seller is using a dummy location in the US, but it comes directly from China or another $hithole country. We, taxpayers are subsidizing this.

Actually, I think this may be a bad idea, even though the Postal Service has been losing billions a year for years. If the USG enacts this increase, it may totally kill off the postal service. UPS, FEDEX, and even Amazon AMZL are already faster and more efficient. If this goes thru they will also be the cheapest solutions for sending packages. Just my $.02

VOTE BY MAIL ..........Pelousi included in the prior stimulus and the new stimulus package again a bail out for the postal service. Wonder why. The postal service keeps getting a bail out because the refuse to raise their prices to compete with others, TRUMP SAID. victim hood reaps rewards when you have people in your court who can help your agenda

Yeah, the USPS is running huge unfunded liabilities and debt (GAO puts it over $140 billion at end of 2018) deficit(s) that continue to grow unabated year in, year out.

Daughter mailed a small box of cookies. Weighed about 1.5 lbs. It cost $11.50 to send it ground. Amazon sends a package that gets delivered by USPS. There is no postage shown on the package so no way to know what it costs. My guess is they deliver that package for a buck or less.

This will save the post office, they are sending amazon packages for 25% of cost and losing money.

Everybody seems to know that Amazon has a sweetheart deal with the USPS.

But does anyone actually know what that deal is? What does Amazon actually pay the USPS?

I’d like to see actual numbers.

If you look at who is in the “Coalition”, you’ll get your questions answered. Mostly, it’s Amazon, eBay and a lot of other large mail-order corporations that don’t want to pay the freight.

If this “bill” is a proposition to raise the prices on ALL USPS packages, it would be a disaster to average Americans and small businesses that send a small number of packages per year. My guess is that it is a way to eliminate the super package pricing deals that the big guys now enjoy.

If the latter is the case, I’d be happy to tell my Congress Critters to support the legislation. Although living in the SF area, I doubt it will do any good.
