I represent companies who sell non medical masks, the masks that we are told we must wear.
Here is a disclaimer that comes with the masks from one of my suppliers:
“Not intended for medical use, not recognized by the CDC or FDA as safe or effective against covid-19 or any virus, no guarantee item will protect user from any illness.”
Does anyone seriously believe that the masks they’re telling us to make with t-shirt fabric at home is going to do more than that?
Forget the internet, the largest purveyor of false information is the various levels of government in the United States.
H. L. Mencken would be laughing his ass off were he alive today
Could you tell us which supplier? I want to quote it to my bishop.
...the masks theyre telling us to make with t-shirt fabric at home...

Blonde Karen:”That’s better than nothing, right?”
But masks of all types do reduce by varying amounts the amount of particles put into the air, and the amount of particles breathed in.
Just reducing the number of particles that you breathe in can reduce the severity of the disease you get. Fewer particles gives your system more time to ramp up defenses.
The disclaimer is to satisfy lawyers, not because masks don't work...they do. A simple double layer of cotton sheet stops 96% of salivary microdrops in the 6 micron size range (which is the range that lodges in the lungs and kicks things off). If you're interested, I can provide a link to the experimentation proving the above.
