How about “egregious misstatement?” We only know how CNN stated it. We have no way of knowing how they read it. To say they must have misread it implies a lot more honesty on the part of CNN than I give them credit for.
And really, only 1% of us need a vaccine to return to normal life. Everybody else would have been fine just getting this stupid virus and being done with it.
In most of the counties in Virginia, meaning all the ones who didn’t let nursing homes get infected, the death rate measured strictly by deaths per POSITIVE TESTS was 0.05% or less. Some were at 0.01%. That’s 1 out of every 10,000 positive cases.
