North Dakota schools will be able to open next month for summer programs, Gov. Doug Burgum (R) said Monday.
Schools, which have been shuttered in response to the coronavirus pandemic, will be allowed to reopen starting June 1 for summer programs.
Permitted activities include child care programs, summer school classes and college admission testing.

And a lot of schools probably could have resumed by now and squeezed in the end of the school year.
Lots of questions in my head over this virus, shutdown, and all.
Dr. Fauci just said schools shouldnt open, but hes not in Dakota, is he?
Why should a teachers union say teachers shouldnt teach?

Doubt if parents would send their kids to school here in our part of Atlantic County NJ. We lost an 18 year old high school senior the other day. She was captain of the swim team and crew member.
All of the states need to start the ‘fall term’ on July 1.
1. The kids need to catch up on the things missed during the shutdown.
2. The parents need a break from having their kids at home for the past two months.
3. The teacher’s union needs to squawk that forcing the teachers to work 12 months per year is cruel and unusual punishment.
A lot of schools in the northern tier are not air-conditioned. As it is now, the first month of school is horrible with the heat.
They’ve been teaching over the internet, so it’s not like they haven’t been indoctrinating the kids all this time.
