Fauci delivered the somber warning Tuesday to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions during a hearing about the road to reopening businesses across the nation. U.S. officials have pointed to the development of a vaccine as a key turning point in the Covid-19 pandemic, even though it will take a at least 12 to 18 months.
As experimental vaccines are created, they will also need to be mass produced to be administered to the more than 7.6 billion people around the world. In the meantime, there are not yet proven treatments for virus.
Fauci’s comments highlight another complexity in the path to a vaccine.
“You can have everything you think that’s in place and you don’t induce the kind of immune response that turns out to be protective and durably protective,” Fauci said of a vaccine. “So one of the big unknowns is, will it be effective?"

Yes, you used factual flu death rates, but now that we did all the shutting down/locking down/mitigation, there's no longer a valid way to make the comparison.
Could there have been 2 million+ deaths from this bug - I doubt it.
Could there have been multiples of what we're seeing - very possible but, once again, we'll never know.
PS - You never really did any actual responding to any of the previous comments - you originally slammed a guy for agreeing with my comments and told him to go to DU (Where you probably would fit in better), the last questions I had were about your actual claim/inferred claim about protesting...you diverted nicely...
I also went back to check the thread of our "discussion" and noticed you telling someone else that you "might not be the most conservative one here, but your long-term squatting means they have to put up with you"...seems like I ain't the only one that thinks you'd fare better on a less conservative site.

The lockdown did nothing to flatten the infection rates. Evidence is mounting that the lockdown has increased the infection rate of the coronavirus. People get sicker in the winter because they spend more time indoors breathing the same enclosed air and touching the same surfaces over and over again. Everyone goes to the grocery stores and picks up the virus, and then spread it faster back in their homes.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has progressed the leftists have reacted with authoritarianism, never letting a crisis go to waste, while patriots fight to retain our freedom’s. Which side are you on, the left or the right? I am starting to think that perhaps you tend towards leftism.
Time to open up and it looks like Trump knows it would be counterproductive to dump Fauci at this stage (the Dems and Fake News have leveraged it to the max), he is starting to listen and disagree.<>Too many went full-panic mode early on and tied his hands and his hopes of the Parties coming together for the worst crisis to hit us in over 100 years has proved that the Dems NEVER work for the actual good and now it's time to slap them back to where they belong.
