Fauci delivered the somber warning Tuesday to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions during a hearing about the road to reopening businesses across the nation. U.S. officials have pointed to the development of a vaccine as a key turning point in the Covid-19 pandemic, even though it will take a at least 12 to 18 months.
As experimental vaccines are created, they will also need to be mass produced to be administered to the more than 7.6 billion people around the world. In the meantime, there are not yet proven treatments for virus.
Fauci’s comments highlight another complexity in the path to a vaccine.
“You can have everything you think that’s in place and you don’t induce the kind of immune response that turns out to be protective and durably protective,” Fauci said of a vaccine. “So one of the big unknowns is, will it be effective?"

Folks who would be up in arms if the government decided to tell them they could not move freely are now begging that same government to lock them, and everyone else, down....I’d wager if, after doing that, the story ‘evolved” they would also go meekly to barb-wire surrounded camps/tent cities because the “latest info” said that’s the only way to stop it. Even though we know that they use fear to guide and control us, so many can’t see it through the red haze of insane panic....they not only welcome the government controls, they beg for them...
And the fear mongers will try to leverage it...
Reminds me of a saying that many FReepers, who are now acting insane, used to showcase:

Even though my wife and I are in the high-risk age group, I wish we hadn't done all the shut downs and other crap...but what is done is done and it is the reality of the day....no sense crying over it as it serves no useful purpose...now is the time to do what we can to help get things open even if it means getting out and protesting ourselves instead of letting others do the heavy lifting as we shed tears all over our keyboards.
As you can see, we have many immature children who cannot deal with reality and try to do what needs to be done to move on and deal with it...they cry and scream and whine and pule while the spilt milk sours because they are too lazy to wipe it up.

And I was called names by those who were doing the panicking that took many of the options out of the President's hands...many here on FR would have been siding with the Dems if he hadn't called for the shutdown and the very mitigation efforts they now whine about.

If you can read and comprehend what you read, you would realize you're tirade is nothing but emotional crap and devoid of reality.
I have protested the lockdowns and I will protest in the future. I knew this was a scam within two weeks of the announcement that Covid-19 was here and that we should have ‘social distancing‘. I know that this farce is a repeat the 2008 financial crisis all over again that was gunned up to steal the election.

Sorry. While I am not the biggest conservative you will ever meet, you are going to have to make room for me right here on FR as I have been since 1998. And, you are going to have to put up with my comments.
You should focus your energy on blaming the CCP instead of people who are actually part of the Trump administration (who by the way have done amazing things such as ramping up testing in the face of an unknown and new virus that should have never landed on these shores but for the CCP).
SO if Fauci has his way, the country will never reopen completely.
BTW - when you say you "protested the lockdowns", do you mean you've been on the streets or just throwing words around? I only ask because so many here make vague statements meant to make others think they mean something else.
I haven't been on the streets but I have put my money where my mouth is with a number of donations to trump, Jordan and others...I also hit my Reps with emails and tweets on a regular basis...FR is my favorite place/venue but I don't limit myself.
I can read and comprehend far better than you I’m afraid. As of today, the much-hyped and overinflated death toll is 80,000 in America. As I posted earlier in this same thread every year the flu kills tens of thousands per year just in America and hundreds of thousands globally every year.
