This is what really gets me - he says 99% have “mild symptoms”. We know 1% will die. But of the other 99%, 2% will be hospitalized. When you are hospitalized your symptoms are severe, not mild. This guy is a disgrace, off by a factor of 300% in his description of who has severe symptoms. I know someone who had Covid, who was not hospitalized, but could not sleep for 3 days. This guy is a complete fraud.

(1) The new coding system “is expected to result in COVID19 being the underlying cause of death more often than not.”
Translation: If the dead person tested positive for COVID-19, the cause of death is COVID-19, regardless of any other diseases that might be present.
(2) What if the dead person was not tested but had flu-like symptoms? “It is not likely that NCHS will follow up on these cases.”
Translation: Any person who had flu-like symptoms after February 29th can be declared a COVID-19 death!
Also, Dr. Birx told a White House meeting yesterday that the CDC death toll is at least 25% too high.
The first report on Birx came out in WaPo, which is behind a pay wall.
Also, and I can dig out the links if you need them, pneumonia kills about 300,000 Americans each year.
At least 50% of those pneumonia cases were caused by influenza or the common cold - but, less than 10% of those deaths are assigned to influenza.
But - 100% of the people infected with COVID-19 who die from pneumonia are classified as COVID-19 deaths!
And - exactly the same thing happens with cancer deaths, cardio-vascular deaths, and diabetes deaths.
Just like back in the day “bleeding” a patient never really did any good.
There were multiple vectors in play for the start of this epidemic in the US, not just one.

He’s talking about people under age 65 who are in good health.
The death rate for that cohort is 0.1%, exactly the same as the death rate for seasonal influenza.
This debate is about destroying the USA economy in a deranged and futile attempt to save elderly and infirm Americans from a potentially fatal disease.
I am elderly, but in excellent health, and I live just 10 miles from the nursing home in metro Seattle where 45 people died, where this whole catastrophe started.

We had the West Coast epicenter in Washington State which came directly from Wuhan. Then, we had the New York epicenter which came from Europe via Wuhan. New York was the principle source of infection for the entire nation.
That is an assumption absent evidence, to my recollection. Most of the local hotspots across the nation did not do effective tracing, and therefore conclusions regarding source of infection are assumptive.
The original (singular) infection in the NYC area that I recall was from Iran. There were apparently others from Italy and elsewhere in Europe.
The dispersal pattern is reminiscent of bio-war games from my time in the army.
