House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is reportedly drafting legislation that would assist states and local governments that have seen their economy contract amid the coronavirus pandemic, but any new bill is expected to face resistance from Republicans who’ve said they have been largely left out of negotiations.
The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that the legislation may be completed this week and inject more than $750 billion into state and local governments’ coffers. The report pointed out that House Democrats have not engaged with the GOP-controlled Senate and Republican representatives.
Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., said, “We’ve really not been invited into those discussions yet.”

It’s obviously aimed at blue stat govt with mayors who hate Trump like Garcetti et al. They’re all scared after Stephen Miller and Graham said thy wont bail out blue states.
It’s pure politics. The ‘rats are going to build a state bailout and keep hammering Senate Republicans until they agree to some form of it and send it to President Trump and dare him to veto it right before the elections. It’s the standard Kabuki theater script.
Oh sure, use tax-collected monies, to keep the tax collectors open!
Then, as we the people crawl out of the hole dug by our oh-so-wise local leaders, those leaders charge more taxes to make up for dollar losses we can’t.

NO way we here in low tax Florida should help bail out big spending Illinois, N.Y. etc.
Florida and N.Y. states have near equal populations yet N.Y. taxes more than twice what we do here in Florida.

The DNC must really be broke and Nancy needs to do some creative fundraising pre election.
Make sure it’s live on TV like the Pelosi tearing up of the State of the Union Speech.
