Many state sites have a predictable weekly cycles of “new cases” spiking on Mondays and declining throughout the week, hitting the lows on Saturdays and Sundays when (surprise, surprise) most testing places are closed or on greatly reduced hours.

Most transmissions occurred at home, rendering the close-down-all-businesses-and-shelter-in-place rule contraindicated.”
