NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- Little Richard, the flamboyant singer, songwriter, and musician known for a string of rock and roll hit songs and fiery showmanship, has died, according to his pastor. He was 87.
The cause of death was not known Saturday.
According to sources, Little Richard was conflicted by his sexuality. He was a sincere Christian.
Who knew that "The Killer" would outlast them all!
We were coming back from Florida, and ate at a Ryan’s buffet in Murfreesboro, TN. Little Richard and his extended family, about 20 people, came in and were seated at the table next to us.
A balloon popped and Little Richard let out a scream and said, “I thought they got me”. It was hilarious.
He had a good testimony of how God led him away from homosexuality.

“Little Richard, the flamboyant singer...”
Flamboyant?? That’s not the word I used to hear when he was described in the ‘60s and 70’s. Especially from my grandparents.
Pretty much it’s down to Jerry Lee Lewis, now.
Who woulda thunk he’d be the last one standing?
So true. I’m waiting for the Keith Richards picture, “Hey Mick, look who I outlived this week.”
For whatever reason, his lengthy National Anthem in Mystery, Alaska, always makes me chuckle
Memory Eternal.
That isi kinda weird, isn’t it?
This is something quite different from Little Richard, showcases his piano playing:

Well his semi-protege Billy Preston
was gay, and sadly in a predatory way
Both were into drugs big time at one point
as was associate Larry Williams no
slouch himself
But the music was incredible
You can add Carl Perkins Johnny Cash
the Everlys Bo Diddley to those above
Take me off music thread.
Thanks
Oh no. For real???
I always loved his music. My daughter feel in love with his zaniness when he did his version of itsy burst spider
That saddens me! He was one of the greats. He will be surely missed..
Is it bad that one of my first thoughts was that we wouldn’t get to see him on “The Masked Singer”?
Keith Richards is going to outlast EVERYONE!!!
Making it to age 87 is job well done. So lets give Little Richard credit for this. I suppose he lead a wild life but he lived long.
I remember when Billy Preston was arrested for kiddie diddling https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1991-08-19-me-736-story.html
Preston was a frequent sideman for Beetles and Stones which is quite an accomplishment.
