BRUNSWICK, Ga. A quick acting police officer in Brunswick stopped a teenager with a loaded gun from entering a high school basketball game Tuesday night.
Police arrested 19-year-old Ahmaud Marquez Avery (pictured below), who is not a student at Brunswick.
"The man ran through the parking lot. I tried to get him to stop as well. He would not stop for us," said Glynn County Schools Chief of Police, Rod Ellis. "We ended up chasing him to the back of the school were other officers helped us apprehend him."
Ellis said the .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun slipped out of the teen's pants.

What about a soccer game?
Driving down the street is not “Vigilantism”, even if one is in possession of a gun.
Your purposed hyperbole is duly noted, tool. This fella was not executed, fool. He was shot by a gun he was wrestling to try and take control of.
You will not earn your pay by hyperbole at FR. Go do your evil work at some other dumbed down site more on your nasty level.
I don't have the first clue. How about you?
A shot gun was pointed at him, that was how they shot him and murdered him
I believe three shots were fired during that ordeal
That jogger had every right to defend himself at that moment they drew the shot gun.
Look up and research brandishing

Absolutely.
But it’s what you get when the justice system cringes.
The whole basis for the justice system is that it’s better than vigilantism.
When it can’t make that claim...
The definition of brandishing varies from state to state and even county to county. You cannotnjust say look up the definition of brandishing. As someone who carries a gun every day of my life, please excuse me if I do not take the advice of a person from New Jersey, likely ignorant of most gun laws.
Where is your sense of adventure???
They admitted that they wanted to “make an citizens arrest” however none of them witnessed any crimes committed by the alleged jogger. However they were told by a neighbor who saw him on a construction site. Which is not enough to make a “citizens arrest”.
They were vigilante’s at that moment in time. Even with or without the gun. And they turned into cold blooded murderers when they shot that man.
So this justifies his murder?
It depends on who’s doing the shooting in today’s climate and even 18 years ago.
In Eastern New Orleans a black guy shot an “unarmed” teen (about 19 or 20)who was also black, after the teen was caught trying to steal his car.
Grand jury in New Orleans wouldn’t indict him on murder charges even after he went back inside his apartment on the balcony to get his gun. I was surprised then not surprised.
No calls or marches for justice. It was 18 years ago, but still.
I’m pretty sure these two men in the present circumstances are going to prison for manslaughter at the least.
What “vigilantes” out to commit murder CALL 911 and inform authorities about said perp?
How dense do you have to be?
Sorry, you sound like you have no idea what gun laws are if you think you can just carry a gun, go out and “arrest a man” because you think he might have committed a crime, chase him down with your pals in your pick up trucks, yell at that man, harass that man and then shoot him in cold blood because you got yourself in an altercation with him. Then you are, with due respect, an idiot (and a murderer)
Sorry, murder is murder.
If they called the cops, they should have stayed home and let the cops deal with him.
The cops didn’t need these idiots’ help
Sorry
Remember the old Foxworthy thing?
You might be a redneck if...
“Your grandmother has gotten into a fistfight at a junior high school basketball game.”
Anyway, his past justifies his killing. At least that is what is normal in society unfortunately. People are often unable to separate issues and consider them on their own merit.
Also, be prepared to be insulted for your comments. Thats also a new normal on FR. Unlike the late 90s early 2000s, when people could take vastly different views on the same subject but you still see cordial discussion (even cordial disagreement) as long as the positions taken are conservative (and if not, then someone got zotted - havent had that word, or seen the Viking kittens, for a while ...older FReepers will know what a Viking kitty is).
In new FR - if you disagree with someone then youre an idiot or some other silly word. Very weird cultish behaviors on FR for two or so years now. Just yesterday I had to report someone to the Mods (first time Ive ever done that since 1999) for putting clearly racist stuff on how this jogger should have been killed because of what he is. Surprisingly (for modern FR), the Mods actually deleted the persons post. Anyway, all the best - and prepare to be insulted.
Uh, not sure if you made a mistake or not in posting to him. But the person you are posting to is actually the one insulting people.
