A coalition of Republican senators and congressmen are asking President Trump to expand his recent executive order to suspend visas for foreign workers seeking employment in the United States while more than 33 million Americans are unemployed.

In letters to Trump, Sens. Tom Cotton (R-AR), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), and Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Reps. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Lance Gooden (R-TX), Mo Brooks (R-AL), and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) request that Trump prevent unemployed Americans from being forced to compete against foreign workers at a time of record joblessness spurred by the Chinese coronavirus crisis.

“When setting up USA operations, a foreign company typically wants some of its executives from the head office to relocate to the USA. You don’t know the unintended consequences of shutting out foreign ViSAs. You have more of a case if you are talking about H1B visas but if you want to cut out L visas you are dead wrong. For those who don’t know, an L visa is what the foreign executive would use to come into the USA.”

That is a total strawman argument. In this brave New World they can videoconference. The fire sale on American prosperity and the war on the middle and working classes has to end..

“Great Recession”

IMV it was a depression. This time, though, we didn’t have an FDR to exacerbate and prolong it.

[Halt them forever you traitorous bastards]

Works for me.

2nd term Boosh destroyed things with his nation-builder and imported labor, including illegals. Then many of us had to suffer under that fraud Barack.

What a big surprise that Boosh and Barack are now buddy-buddy and have great disdain for a pro-American worker, anti-New World Order President. Not.

That in no way proves, or even implies, that the Trump family have accepted bribes.

H1B and H2B. Suspended indefinitely. Those here currently finish their employment and depart; no new visas issued... ever, really. Why?

In 2017 they issued 180,000 new visas, added to another 180,000 visa-holders already in the country. That’s 360,000 visa-holders in the country in that year. So we’re not talking about a few specialists brought in to support our own techs, these are numbers that replace whole swaths of American workers. It needs to stop.

Lol.. and cut corporate welfare.. not gonna happen. Just the dollars they avoid in employers taxes paid for hiring our sons and daughters. It’s a nice scam perpetrated with colleges. Everyone gets paid but our children.

Watch it, around here a small handful will call you a communist if you criticize executives. In their eyes it’s always the non-executive’s fault. However, I think most have left when Trump became president, which is a good thing.

Where did it say they accepted bribes? Of course with that shithead Kushner there will be a quid pro quo somewhere.

The H-2 non-immigrant guest worker program continues. From the State Department:
Important Announcement on H2 Visas
Last Updated: March 26, 2020
In response to significant worldwide challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of State temporarily suspended routine visa services at all U.S. Embassies and Consulates as of March 20, 2020. As resources allow, embassies and consulates will continue to provide emergency and mission critical visa services.

The H-2 program is essential to the economy and food security of the United States and is a national security priority. Therefore, we intend to continue processing H-2 cases as much as possible, as permitted by post resources and local government restrictions. Secretary Pompeo, in consultation with the Department of Homeland Security, has authorized consular officers to expand the categories of H-2 visa applicants whose applications can be adjudicated without an in-person interview.
Consular officers can, if they so choose, now waive the visa interview requirement for first-time and returning H-2 applicants who have no apparent ineligibility or potential ineligibility. This expansion also increases the period in which returning workers may qualify for an interview waiver. Applicants whose previous visas expired in the last 48 months, and who did not require a waiver of ineligibility the last time they applied, do not need to be interviewed in-person if they are applying for the same visa classification as their previous visa.
We anticipate the vast majority of otherwise qualified H-2 applicants will now be adjudicated without an interview.

Consular resources and local government restrictions vary widely, and each consular section is continuously reviewing its capacity to adjudicate visa applications during this worldwide pandemic. We encourage applicants to consult with the relevant U.S. embassy or consulate in order to confirm the level of services currently offered. Our overseas missions will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.

You said, “...everybody including trump family is paid off.”

In the English language as spoken in America today, “paid off” means that a bribe has been offered and accepted.

Make it in America.

Buy Made in America.

Hire Americans.

Keep it all home first.

Then if there’s still the need, look abroad at friendly to America countries.
