I DONT LIKE LINCOLN.
I think one of the most entertaining ‘what if’ scenarios in American history is if Lincoln hadn’t been assassinated and was able to advocate for his vision of ‘Reconstruction’. Congress was dominated by the Radical Republicans who wanted the South to be punished. Would he have won the political struggle or would he have been impeached like Johnson was? And would he be seen as a hero (by manynot you) as a hero today.
