Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones spoke up in the public debate to reopen the capital region and California, urging local officials to reopen the economy and let people go back to work in a post to his Facebook page Wednesday.

“It is time,” he said. “It is time to let people out of their houses and responsibly open the economy, to let businesses thrive and employees and former employees get back to work.”

“It is time to understand that stay-at-home equals loss of tax revenue, and that equals significant cuts to law enforcement and fire departments next year, including potential public safety layoffs all over California and the nation.”

Always.

It’s always about the money.

That’s a d-mn good reason. No tax money means no road repairs, no cop to come when a house gets broken into, no crew to fix the street lights. Not everything funded by taxes is bloat or a luxury that we can afford to lose.

he’s right for the wrong reason

best we can expect from libtard politicians

always remember

libs only do things they feel are in THEIR best interests

so even if they make a ‘right’ decision it’s only because they believe THEY benefit

“Yep

I’ll take it. We’ve got to get businesses open and people back to work.

FYI he’s an elected Republican. And unless you’re an anarchist, you recognize the need for some of the functions of government, including a police department. They may overspend, but a lockdown of businesses - no tax money - means even the vital stuff won’t get funded.

its a liberal tactic though

libs always threaten police and fire cuts first, don’t act like you don’t know its from the libtard playbook 101

“Government employee declares that taxserfs must return to work in order to provide the taxes that support his lifestyle.”

The lockdown was fantastic when it only harmed private sector workers.

What the hell are you people talking about? Though the position is non-partisan, Scott Jones is a sensible republican in a blue county. You have to read pretty carefully between the lines to conjure up the bad motives people have ascribed to him in this thread

“libs always threaten police and fire cuts first”

It’s the libs who are supporting the lockdown, friend. The sheriff is an elected Republican.

It’s still a crappy way for a Republican duly elected Sheriff to say its time for the lockdown to come to an end...instead of saying it’s unconstitutional.

Scott Jones is a lot of things to a lot of people, but he is not a libtard to anyone.

The drumbeat is getting louder and louder.
Even in California. “It’s time to get to work!”

“It’s still a crappy way for a Republican duly elected Sheriff to say”

Because it’s going to cut into basic government functions? That’s not something to complain about? I a Republican. I’m not an anarchist. Somebody who believes in no government is called an anarchist.
