New Jersey is extending its public health emergency over the coronavirus pandemic for another 30 days, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Wednesday.
Murphy signed an executive order that will keep the declaration in place through at least June 6.

While I disagree with Trump’s actions in all this from the beginning, I think his hands are tied by the panic that the msm and many on this forum have instilled in people. Weak people are like children and panic spreads like wildfire among them. The rest of us Americans will take quite a bit before we take actions. But once unleashed, we fight to the end. Agree 100%. POTUS has ankle biters on all sides as he battles a Deep State that is using every tool they have to defeat him in 2020. He’s in a no win situation and trying to buy time. New Jersey beaches cannot be closed to the public as a matter of law. The boardwalks could legally be closed, and most (excepting - interestingly - Atlantic City) were closed. However, they are quietly beginning to reopen with little/no fanfare.
From what I can see, Asbury Park (one of the bluest of the shore towns) may be choosing economic seppuku instead of opening its boardwalk.
The operators of the bars, nightclub and restaurants pay the landlords of the bar, nightclub and restaurant buildings and the owners in turn pay the town property taxes, which pays the Asbury Park cops, firemen and teachers.
I don't know how the town can possibly survive without its bars, restaurants, nightclubs and concerts. It will return to the burned out ruin that it was after the riots of 50 years ago, and that it took 40 years to recover from.
Or maybe they think that Murphy can print money. It doesn't look like they want to open up.
