I am not a fan of FISA reform. What this FISA abuse by the FBI has shown me is that humans cannot be trusted with that kind of power.

When is suits their needs, they simply ignore the law and there are no ramifications.

Laws only work when there is a moral people behind them.

In my opinion, FISA should be banished and if that means we have to deal with more successful terrorist attacks, then that is the price we have to pay.

.
So now we know where Lindsey Graham came up with the language - the same verbiage - to discredit Rudy’s evidence that Graham never saw in the first place.

That was the Question how did Graham know when he admitted he had not seen it. He went from not criticizing Obama for 8 years to now taking direction from him in seedy letters.

The Senate needs to a house cleaning!

Rand’s amendment he talked about prohibits any spying on Americans or political campaigns so it never happens again.

Rand just wants to take it back to what it was intended for i.e FOREIGN. Clue is in the name. Rand is OK with warrants being granted to spy on foreigners but not U.S citizens.

Rand believes the FBIAS can be trusted?

I don’t.

Abolish FISA.

There is no prospect of abolishing FISA. Rand wants the Fed’s to able to spy on foreign terrorists but not U.S citizens. The amendment makes it clear.

He is naïve to think the FBIAS can be trusted.

He wants more transparency as well so you can judge whether they’re breaking the law...

‘My amendment stops government from surveilling an American citizen unless it gets a warrant from a normal court established under Article III of the Constitution.

It would also force government to abide by the Fourth Amendment and respect due process by preventing it from using information collected under FISA against an American citizen. Government can follow other laws to obtain the necessary information to charge a citizen, including Title III of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, which lays out how law enforcement can surveil suspects consistent with the Fourth Amendment.’

LOL, I know what you mean, but those things were already against the law and they (the FBI, DOJ, and Obama Administration) simply sidestepped them without even slowing down.

Disgusting.

The analogy is apt in comparison to gun laws.

Gun laws work great for law abiding people, but...to those who have no intention of following a law...it isn’t even an impediment.

He makes a great point about these stimulus packages being money we don’t have, but then I have to ask what was his vote on the relief packages?

Absolutely agreed. Secret courts, with secret evidence is unamerican.

He wasn’t there because he was under quarantine after testing positive for coronavirus. Mike Lee also missed the vote (96-0)

Thanks for that. Sad that not a single Republican voted against the waste.
