Black faculty, administrators outraged at hiring of white woman as Michigan State U. provost

Black faculty, administrators, and staff at Michigan State University are angry at the selection of a white woman as the school’s new provost.

It’s a “travesty,” wrote MSU Black Faculty, Staff and Administrators Association President Eunice Foster about the hiring of Northwestern University’s Teresa Woodruff.

According to the Lansing State Journal, Foster also said many in the black community consider it “unbelievable,” “outrageous,” “unconscionable,” “shocking,” and “appalling” in her letter to MSU President Samuel Stanley Jr.

“To those of us seeking a just, inclusive, and equitable campus,” Foster wrote, “this appointment is a misjudgment of what Michigan State University…needs now, given the abysmal state of race relations both on campus and in the nation.”

The Journal notes Woodruff miffed students at Northwestern for allegedly “ignoring the concerns of underrepresented students.” According to the student paper The Daily Northwestern, students wanted Woodruff canned for this fact as recently as March.

Woodruff beat out Rutgers’ Wanda Blanchett and the University of Houston’s Antonio Tillis, both of whom are black and specialize in race issues. Foster noted the two runners up also have experience as “healers,” while Woodruff “only has experience working with white women.”

I’m an alumnus, my dad was a professor there. I knew the previous Prez, Lou Anna Simon. They call and ask for money, I tell them as soon as the State News endorses a Republican for President I’ll consider giving.

I give to Hillsdale College.

Liberals eating their own is amusing.

The minorities have their shielded enclaves and sinecures in academia that are called “Diversity Offices”. Plenty of six-figure salaries to go around there...don’t worry...be happy!!

Waiting on someone in the media to point out this racist letter. I’m sure they’ll get around to it any minute now

[Not sure about his abilities. That’s a decent resume but maybe the Spartans couldn’t get “Their Man” altho DAntonio was ooutta there at a bad time. Seems like Tucker had “assured” CU days, if not hours, before taking the job]

The MSU job is his 6th in 10 years. In that time span, he hasn’t been covering himself in glory in his prior coaching positions:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mel_Tucker
[Tucker began his coaching career in 1997 as a graduate assistant for the Michigan State University Spartans under head coach Nick Saban.[6] In 1999, he served as a defensive backs coach for the Miami University Redhawks, and then in 2000 followed Saban to Louisiana State University to fill the same position with the LSU Tigers. In 2001, he became defensive backs coach for the Ohio State University Buckeyes under coach Jim Tressel. In 2002, Tucker was the defensive backs coach as Ohio State won a national championship, and in 2004 he was made co-defensive coordinator.[5]

In 2005 Tucker entered the National Football League (NFL) with the Cleveland Browns. He coached defensive backs from 2005–2007 and was promoted to defensive coordinator in the 2008 season following the firing of Todd Grantham.[7][8] Under Tucker, Cleveland consistently ranked fifth in the league, with the defense making 73 interceptions.[5] After the firing of Browns head coach Romeo Crennel, Tucker was replaced by Rob Ryan.[9]

In 2009 Tucker was hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars as the defensive coordinator. In the 2011 season head coach Jack Del Rio put Tucker in charge of defensive play-calling, and the team quickly became the fourth highest rated in the NFL. On November 29, 2011, Tucker was named Jacksonville’s interim head coach following the firing of Del Rio. He ran the team for their final five games and was in consideration for the job full-time until Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey was named head coach on January 10, 2012. Tucker got his first victory as a head coach in week 14, a 41–14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He went 2–3 as interim head coach. On January 12, 2012, he informed the media he would return to his position as defensive coordinator for the Jaguars. On January 13, 2012 it was announced that Tucker would also be the assistant head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. On January 18, 2013 Tucker was named defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears.[10]

Following one of the worst defensive seasons in Bears’ history in 2013, Tucker was criticized by the media.[11] As a result, the team fired two of Tucker’s assistant coaches, linebackers coach Tim Tibesar and defensive line coach Mike Phair.[12] The Bears replaced them with Paul Pasqualoni as defensive line coach and Reggie Herring as linebackers coach.[13]

On January 20, 2015, following another record-setting low defensive season for the Bears, Tucker was replaced by former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio under new head coach John Fox.[14] He spent the 2015 season with the Alabama Crimson Tide as assistant head coach and defensive backs coach,[15] during which the team won the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship.[16]

In 2016, Tucker moved to Georgia as the defensive coordinator.[16]

On December 5, 2018, Tucker signed an agreement to become the Colorado Buffaloes football head coach starting in 2019.[17]

On February 12, 2020, Tucker resigned as Colorado’s head coach to accept the same position at Michigan State.[18] Tucker’s contract at Michigan State is worth $5.5 million annually for 6 years; more than double his contract at Colorado (5-year, $14.8 million) and more than $1 million annually over previous head coach Dantonio ($4.3 million per annum).[19] At the time of signing, Tucker became the 12th highest paid head coach in FBS and 4th in Big Ten.[20] ]

The fury and outrage regarding the race of the new hire by this crazy chick, Eunice Foster, make me believe Ms Foster holds her job solely due to the color of her skin.

Prove me wrong.

MSU is such a joke when it comes to diversity. If a POC requests a housing change because they don’t want to live with white students the transfer is granted.

The headline is fake. The students and faculty have issues did NOT say they were opposing Woodruff BECAUSE she is white.

The once magnificent Land Grant Colleges are now just worthless institutions of American cultural rot that WE pay for as we were blinded by NCAA football.

MSU reportedly has, or did have before WuFlu, a $3+ bil endowment.

I wonder if the people *itching about the skin color of the provost would be willing to return donations from white people.

And if whites are good enough to donate, why aren’t they good enough to run MSU?

It happens lots of places

Remember when Mizzou caved in 2015? Even though the “protests” were proved hoaxes and manufactured by an Obama crony (also black and “gay”) the U failed to follow up on the hoaxes, let the “students” graduate without any hint of discipline, took forever to get rid of the ugly hag faculty memeber who committed assault on a student reporter.

So in response, the U hired “diversity” VPs et al. That was its reaction even when it learned and donations were falling thru the floor.

The failure of people, especially whites, to speak up against the hypocrisy of race starting back in the 60s and 70s, this is the result.

The racists are on the other side, and the cowardice of the “leaders” of C & U to speak up . .the pols and media too . .. is where we are at in 2020
