Non essential surgery. Can everyone do this now?
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
All medical procedures on RBG are medically necessary. She’s held together with chicken wire and duct tape at this point.
She probably needed ERCP. It’s endoscopic treatment sometimes with stenting to open bile duct.
It was likely urgent. No one wants to go into the hospital right now unless they have got to.
I just had a cyst on my neck removed 2 weeks ago. My original appointment was cancelled in march but the clinic called me up and asked if I still wanted it done. I said yes but I asked about the essential/nonessential surgery. The nurse said “don’t even get me started”.
This is more of the BS of flattening the curve. I know of at least 3 hospitals in my state that have issued warnings of potential permanent closure due to loss of funds because of the loss of all of the “non-essential” medical procedures.
I’m no fan of the old hag but it’s a super stretch to consider this nonessential - probably critical when an internal organ gets infected....
“Ruth Bader Ginsburg underwent nonsurgical treatment ....”
So, unless the article is wrong, not surgery, “essential” or otherwise.
