Thanks for posting the update.
I was feeling really terrible yesterday and thought I might have it. Talked to the ER doc and he said there was nothing they could give for the disease if you have it. I mentioned the EVMS protocol (having followed its evolution and having read it closely). He didn’t respond to that and didn’t even seem to know about it. I was shocked and very disappointed.
Are all the docs are running ragged and don’t have a lot of time to keep up with the latest info?
I wonder how you can evaluate the protocols that various hospitals or docs at hospitals use. You sure don’t want to get admitted to a hospital that isn’t up-to-date on the latest info and is equipped with the right medications.
I have seen the EVMS protocol before. What I’d like to see and haven’t found is a write up of the results using it.
I also urge you to have copies available to take with you to the hospital if, God forbid, you become infected. Keep in mind that the consortium strongly recommends that the administration of the hydroxychloroquine, Methylprednisolone, or whatever corticosteroid should promptly begin in the emergency room and continue throughout hospitalization. As noted by the consortium, there is resistance to using its anti-inflammatory strategy, and, for that reason, you must be ready to be your own best patient advocate. The idea of having their protocol printed out and with you had occurred to me a couple weeks ago. I've printed a couple copies - one to leave at home and one to take with me to the hospital if I need to go in.So, as we used to say in the Boy Scouts, Be prepared by having printed copies of the consortiums documents readily available. The life you save may be your own.

Also, all corticosteroids besides being anti-inflammatory are also immunosuppressants. In San Antonio VA transplant patients there aren’t any sick with the COVID and all of them are immunosuppressed.
Excellent assessment.
