In a Letter to the Editor to the New York Times, Politico founder Martin Tolchin argued against investigating Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegations of Joe Biden, citing fear of losing the 2020 election. Tolchin said he wants “a coronation of Joe Biden,” not an investigation into the former Senate aide’s rape allegations.
“I don’t want an investigation. I want a coronation of Joe Biden. Would he make a great president? Unlikely. Would he make a good president? Good enough. Would he make a better president than the present occupant? Absolutely,” Tolchin wrote.
Tolchin continued to say he was not interested in justice for Reade, his priority is winning the 2020 election.
“I don’t want justice, whatever that may be. I want a win, the removal of Donald Trump from office, and Mr. Biden is our best chance,” Tolchin said.
Tolchin worked for the New York Times for 40 years, founded The Hill, and helped launch Politico. He won many journalism awards including the Everett M. Dirksen Prize for Distinguished Reporting of Congress.

The fact that justice for Tara Reed is not of any importance to him or the country; nor does he care about the fact that the country elected Trump in 2016 and for 4 years he has endured false accusations and one investigation after another. Also, his supporters have been insulted and demeaned. None of this matters to him. What a selfish lout, he is.

The use of the word “coronation” makes this guy worse than just being biased. Kings and emperors have coronations. They don’t bother with pesky little things like free and fair elections.
Politico was going harder on this story than any other outlet last week. Tolchin must not have much influence there anymore.
