Please no angry posts directed at me. I AM NOT reporting this because I agree with it. Far from it.

Every single year the Pulitzers get worse and worse. And they followed this pattern today.

I forgot to mention that the original date for the announcements was 4/20. They postponed it for two weeks.

So the rule of thumb seems to be: The further left your writing tilts, the more likely you’ll be in the running for a Pulitzer.

Why would ANYone be surprised at this?
THEY are the reason why the "standard" media people aren't believed any more.
THEY are reason why Fox News became such a big deal.
THEY are the reason why CNN and other such mediarags don't do well.
I'd be surprised if any other entity won.

The Pulitzer is the Duranty Award.

...during the great Ukrainian famine of the early 1930s, which Stalin engineered to crush millions of peasants who resisted his policies, Duranty dismissed other correspondents' reports of mass starvation and, though secretly aware of the full scale of the horror, effectively reinforced the official cover-up of one of history's greatest man-made disasters. Later, he took the rigged show trials of Stalin's Great Purges at face value, blithely accepting the guilt of the victims. He believed himself the leading expert on the Soviet Union, and his faith in his own insight drew him into a downward spiral of distortions and untruths, typified by his memorable excuse for Stalin's crimes, "You can't make an omelet without breaking eggs."
Duranty won the Pulitzer for the New York Times for this reporting. The Pulitzer Committee has not rescinded the award.

The Pulitzer Committee continues in the proud tradition of Walter Duranty.

Well, when Uncle Walter got his Pulitzer for fake news about the Soviet Union and Stalin and it has still not been revoked yet, it means that they've not had particularly high standards to begin with.

As far as I’m concerned, anything involving ProPublica (which practices doxxing) deserves a booby prize!!!!

However, ProPublica has some very stiff competition for the booby prize from some of these other “winners”!!!!

You know that bad news messengers have to wear Kevlar vests and metal helmets and steel toed boots. Just to be safe.

I’m still in suspense and haven’t looked yet but hoping for Don Lemon, Jake Tapper and Rachel Maddow. Wait, do they have to actually do something? Maybe “For uncovering how bad a President Trump is by investigative journalism.” /s

How did I miss this?

Music: The Central Park Five, by Anthony Davis Premiered on June 15, 2019 at the Long Beach Opera, a courageous operatic work, marked by powerful vocal writing and sensitive orchestration, that skillfully transforms a notorious example of contemporary injustice into something empathetic and hopeful. Libretto by Richard Wesley.

I'm guessing Zero-bama & his Empress won the top Pulitzer for a news article they have yet to write, so they can put it into their trophy case next to the Nobel Peace Prize he got for ushering in a lasting era of World Peace by merely getting elected & taking the oath of office.

Did I guess right? Come on, somebody tell me; don't make me click on the link to give them more traffic!
