Out of curiosity why is a private civilian security guard trying to enforce a state law? Shouldn’t that guard be a LEO maybe off duty but none the less a official LEO if it is such a dangerous location or job undertaking? The extent of his authority should just be to deny entry non-violently and if met with resistance then back off and call for the police to come and settle the dispute. Sounds like Dollar General may have a ugly expensive situation on its hands when the dust settles.
If a security guard tells me to wear a mask in a store, I will either obey him or I will leave. It has nothing to do with a stupid government edict, and everything to do with the fact that its not my property and I dont do whatever the hell I want there.
But then my name isnt Latrine, either.
Probably rapidly devolved into a “I knows you ain’t gonna be disrespectin me” situation, out came the gun and it was done in seconds.
