SACRAMENTO — Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that some retail stores across the state can reopen with modifications as early as Friday amid growing pressure to ease the stay-at-home order that has cratered the California economy. "We are entering into the next phase this week," Newsom said at his Monday news conference. "This is a very positive sign and it's happened only for one reason: The data says it can happen."
Under the new guidelines, the governor said bookstores, music stores, toy stores, florists, sporting goods retailers and others can reopen for pickup as early as Friday. He said more detailed guidelines on the businesses that can reopen would be released later this week.

Newsom, Cuomo, and Hilary are all in the running.
Newsom is doing this because;
1. He can’t be seen as loosing control
2. He want to portray himself as a “moderate”
Hillary is running because you’re starting to see on CNN/MSNBC how badly Cuomo and Newsom are handling the crisis.
Cuomo will start opening up everything except NYC next week.
Why in the hell would you want to pick it up at the curb. Totally stupid. If I wanted that kind of service, I can order it on Amazon and have it delivered right to my door.

Newsom has an opportunity to turn the reopening of California into a real “plus” for himself ... let’s see if he uses it (understanding, of course, that the DNC expects him to do everything he possibly can to hurt Trump so as to win the Democrat/Left Party leadership’s support in 2024.)
I just talked to a State Senator’s office and Newsom’s Phase II, based on what she told me, in my opinion is pure BS.

I have been moving almost all my non-food shopping to Amazon out here in California until sanity returns to the local scene. I use the interface to Amazon called Smile to support a charity (I chose one for gun rights) with my purchases. Hate to cut off support to local stores. I am ordering more takeout food than I ever have though from local restaurants.
