If you remember, the Rats took the House in 2006. W had done some things right. But the Rats worked to tank everything in sight after they took the House and blame him for the ALL the problems . . . ad nauseum. I fault W for feeding the military industrial complex with Iraq and for agreeing to pay for senior prescription meds. W, his old man and most republicans wanted to make money by latching on to government in the right places (eg military supply contracts). The Rats want to steal everything that is not nailed down.
The Democrats took the House because of the repeated amnesty attempts by the Bush White House.
Bush League Republicans only really care about one thing, turning the USA into North Mexico so it can be subsumed to the UN.
We the people and our sovereignty are in the way and would not vote for that so they are importing people who will.
Bush League Republicans WANT a permanent Democrat majority.
Every Amnesty Senator like Flimsey Grahamnesty and Micro Rubio KNOWS that the amnesty they are STILL pushing for will accomplish that.
As I recall, we lost the house when W and several other RINOS pushed an amnesty bill that failed.
GW did not say unify around the President, just the opposite.
And as you can see from the responses, the headline is all that matters, even to a substantial number of people here on FR. They don’t know what Bush said or didn’t say, nor what Trump said or didn’t say - they just went with the headline.

There was a time in which I kicked people out of my house because they could not contain themselves of bashing Bush on and on. I defended him and voted for him and his father. I went to Iraq under both as they were the Commander and Chief. I now look back much differently. I can’t change it but my feelings are different.

What wasn't normal was the economy crashing after a ridiculous housing run-up. If the breaks were put on years before it wouldnt have been near the mess it was.
