As long as the emergency medical system is not at risk, any measures beyond protecting said system only delay the inevitable spread of the ChiCom Beer Cold, at the cost of wrecking the country.
Looks like Sweden actually got it right. Social distancing to start with, and public reminders to exercise good flu season hygiene. But no draconian lock-downs or house arrest.

That goal was achieved. Obviously, the virus remains, and we are going to have to deal with it ongoing, but our knowledge is improving on the virus and how best to treat it.

Same thing going on in Virginia - a study by Univ of MD showed the majority in VA are not complying (assuming this ‘study’ is accurate) .... no virus explosion here - mostly in nursing homes.
