Here is the reality no one in power is talking about. They have told us the virus can penetrate most masks so it is not useful for protection unless it is an n95 or better. But we should wear them to protect others if we are infected. Wait...the mask won’t keep the virus out, but it can keep the virus in ??? Does that make any sense at all???

Yes, it does. It is a mitigation measure, not a complete preventive.
Somewhere on the main virus thread there is a drawing that shows the amount of virus bestowed on another person with and without masks. The only thing that prevents any virus sharing at all is staying home, but the masks do help.
