The real and unstated purposes of “mandatory masking”:
1) Dog-whistle obedience training. Easy to see who is “compliant” and who needs “re-education”
2) Darn near impossible to wear a mask with a runny nose...so it will force the sick to STAY HOME (which they ought to do anyway, but without government orders)
It is not your fault, but this entire thread failed to mention one critical benefit of wearing masks—reducing the viral load if one gets the virus.
A lower viral load gives everyone a better chance of minor symptoms rather than major symptoms from the virus, since it gives the immune system time to fight it.
The perfect is the enemy of the good—and masks are a reasonable approach for reasonable people.
