His face showing the strains of office, President Trump has obviously been on the job in the coronavirus pandemic.
Apparently the voters have noticed, and Fox News reports that Trump is rising with voters:
President Trump’s job approval soared 6 points in the last two weeks, according to the latest Gallup poll.
The new survey found 49 percent approve of the president’s job in office and 47 percent disapprove, a personal best with Gallup for Trump. Two weeks ago, 43 percent approved of the president’s job, according to the pollster.
Trump also had a 49 percent approval rating in mid-March, according to Gallup, before his rating took a 6-point plunge in the first half of April.
For us, that's reason for 'cautious optimism' as the market guys like to say. Or better still 'the trend is your friend.'
It comes against so many external negatives that would otherwise sink any other politician.
First, the economy is shut down, and doing very badly. No economy, no good approval ratings -- something Presidents Obama and Jimmy Carter never understood (though Bubba Clinton did). Trump had a stellar economy before the onset of the coronavirus, and it all went kaput quickly as any business not deemed 'essential' was shut down. The latest reading says thirty million people have been thrown out of work - restaurateurs, lawyers, rock concert promoters, wedding planners, florists, masseuses, ice cream parlor operators, fair ground organizers, architects, newspapers, advertising firms, bartenders, just throwing some of the range out there. Worse still, the surge of unemployment claims overwhelmed many state systems, ironically so, because all the attention was on preventing the overwhelming of the health care systems

Donald Trump's fundamental optimism and cheerleading of getting the country back to work is a more winning message than the endless misery promised by the Democrats right now.
People who are not completely snowed notice that the streets are not filled with corpses, makeshift hospitals are being abandoned, New York is now a net exporter of ventilators, etc.
It is my faint hope that there will be some accountability for all of those who got it wrong.
Democrats and the mainstream media hit the hardest.

We need to stop kidding ourselves. Trump is not doing well. Almost every recent poll has ranged somewhere between not good and downright alarming. Two polls have Trump and Biden in a statistical tie in F-ing Texas!
If true that’s very,very gratifying news. That would indicate that Americans know who the *real* culprits are and that they recognize that the President is handling a *very* difficult and *totally* novel situations as well as any man (or woman) could.
It’s a sign as to how much people now distrust the media.
While on the one hand, that’s something to cheer, it’s sad that it had to be this way. But this corrupt press, which is obviously beholden to their masters in Beijing, must be exposed for what it is.

Add to that the dictatorial actions of a lot of Democrat governors and mayors in response to the Wuhan Flu. There are many Americans outside of our little FR home who are just as fed up with lefties as we are, and they can see that much of this “crisis” has been blown way out of proportion.

I was actually polled by Gallup. Didn’t know if it was legit or not. Of course I gave President Trump very high rating and gave Congress very low rating.
The odds are no longer heavy. The MSM, 'Jake Crapper,' 'Quim Acoughsta' and crowd over at CNN no longer control the narrative.
President Trump has spanked the fake news media many, many times and sent them to their rooms without supper.
President Trump has won the media battle, and has forced the leftist idiots to ask real questions or alternatively dismissed them. America likes it.
Our wonderful President is a hero. He took all he had worked so hard for and shut it down, sacrificed it, a mark of greatness. He has saved countless lives. Now he's building it back and we the People will stay the course.
President Trump has won this battle and now on to the next battle of opening the nation.
Whether President Trump wins the war will become apparent on Nov. 4th, 2020. May Divine Providence stay the President's course, as we move to shake off the scourge that is Red China.
The President has become much loved in America.And we should show him somehow.
