However, while warmer-than-normal forecasts abound, finding out how they fared is much harder (Google is not much help). We who live in the Northeast know it was actually quite colder than average, but I have only found one story actually stating this:
Boston sees lowest high temperature for April on record By Caroline Enos Globe Correspondent,Updated April 30, 202
This month was pretty cold and damp, and Boston saw its lowest high temperature for April on record.
The city hit 62 degrees on April 6 and 7, which isnt too shabby for a month that tends to feel more like the tail end of winter than the start of spring.
But thats the warmest it got this month the first time this has happened since Boston weather records were first kept in 1872, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Alan Dunham.
The average temperature in Boston from April 1 through April 29 was 44.5 degrees, making this April the 19th coldest on record...We havent gotten into any real warm spells, Dunham said. Weve had a lot of rain and clouds for the month." (https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/04/30/metro/boston-sees-lowest-high-temperature-april-record/)
However, according to the NOAA long range forecast, it is always supposed to be at least warmer than average, likely influenced by Global Warming bias.
Here in the NE (where the Frozen Chosen conservative Christians are few), I am waiting for it, but God is in control, and will make it work all work out for the good of those who love Him.
We’ve been 10 degrees below for at least a month here in Upstate.
Psst,,,its May.
:]
Yep...been downright chilly here in NC in April, even this am, May 2...walked with jacket and gloves.
Only thing spring here has been flowers and early dawns.
We just had one of the coldest Aprils on record here in eastern New England.
Great. Now that April is gone, what’s May look like?
We know warm weather is a problem and cold temperatures as well. But this is the most insidious symptom of Global Warming. Abnormally normal temperatures!
However, as these "experts" are "predicting the past" I suppose there's an outside chance their predictions will be more accurate than those of other recently worshipped "experts".
April felt like February here in the Boston area.
It snowed last week and i was scrapping ice off my windshield 3 mornings ago.
woke up this morning freezing my butt off because the window was opened a crack.
Yep, spring gardening significantly slowed down here in CT.
But of course they forecast what they think is more likely or probable, not what they are certain of.
Here in South Central Alabama, the whole month was spectacular; a little too much rain, but temperatures in the mid 70s all month long. A couple of days made the 80s, and some days were only in high 60s.
I just checked my weather station average for the month, and it was 66.7 degrees, but that also counts overnight lows.
It was hardly a hot April in the South, and actually on the cool side.
Another load of poo from the prognosticators. It was colder in April than February here. Five inches of snow 4 days ago, three snow storms in April, still snow in my yard,
24 degrees 2 mornings ago.. Same people tell me “the Earf has a fever”.
I have a very accurate personal weather station at my house near DC. According to my station, the average high for this past April was 64.7 and the average low was 41. The average high for DC in April is 67 and the average low is 44. Climate predictors are about as smart as smart as virus predictors.
This only proves that the media can also do “Fake Weather.”
They multitask, don’t you see.
Coldest April in Virginia ever since ‘73 when I moved here, highs for many days barely reaching 60.....now it’s May, and still in upper 60’s tho today is 71 and tomorrow and exceptional 82...back to a high of 57 on Tuesday.
So looking like coldest May in 47 years as well......
Global warming, you know........
Another COLD April here in Maryland.
Global warming my ass.
The actual maximum temperature anomaly for the month of April! I credit weatherbell.com and Joe D'Aleo. This may very well persist into May as the MJO is lingering in the cold phases. (I love being a premium subscriber!)
In Charlotte...had to turn the heat on this morning...house interior was at 66°. Normally, this time of year, we’re jockeying between heat and AC. We just try to leave the equipment off, but this period of back and forth seems to be longer than normal. It’s not bad...the days are wonderful wx wise.
