Gov. Charlie Baker signed an executive order Friday requiring residents to wear masks in public, including people who take public transit and grocery shopping.
We view this as common sense, said Baker, a Republican.
The executive order takes effect on May 6.
Masks and face coverings are mandatory in grocery stores, pharmacies and other retail shops, as well as on public transportation. The order does not apply to children under the age of 2 and people with medical conditions who would be negatively affected by the requirement.

People who are found violating the order could get a $300 fine. Baker said enforcement will be left up to cities and towns.
Face coverings are also mandatory out in parks and sidewalks, particularly in times and places where people have trouble staying at least 6 feet apart, according to the order.
Baker suggested, for example, that someone who goes out for a run at dawn likely wont need a mask because few people are around. Yet someone who goes out in the late afternoon and walks or runs in the company of others must wear a mask under the executive order because socially distancing will likely be impossible.

Oh and don't use a N95 mask, but a home made piece of fabric that won't stop a virus. These orders are noting more than fell good control orders, not about health.
The RATS paid the CCP darn good money for this virus, and they want their darn money’s worth. It’s the DemoVirus!!!!
Great, my only mask is going to get crusty pretty quick.
You could say that about all the northeast Dem governors. They are all out of their league waiting for instructions from Cuomo.
Can a governor make a new law like this? Can he make a law you have to wear your underwear outside your pants?
I am convinced that mask hate was started by the people in the race to develop facial recognition. The Chinese have teamed up with a mask manufacturer to produce a mask that allows their facial recognition to work, but all bets are off with the homemade cotton masks. The masks dont prevent businesses open, quite the opposite in fact.
That state is a hot spot. It has the Biogen Conference Italy strain that got spread to Indiana which then became super spreading in Indiana.
Look at the percentage of Mass. deaths to other states.
Fluid droplets are 1-100 micrometers.
Nowhere near large enough to be stopped by a cloth mask.
Highest-quality surgical mask, maybe half of them.
Cloth mask? Pfft; last thing I read was maybe 4% efficiency at BEST.
Thinking that a cloth mask will work is like trying to keep out a dust storm with a chain link fence.
The most that a cloth mask does is give people a false sense of security even in an actual pandemic.
It’s a last ditch effort to stretch out the quarantine.
No way the general “stay at home” keeps going past Memorial Day. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if the campus I work at makes people wear masks in every building at all times through the summer. Me, I think I’m going to “work” at home through Labor Day. Besides, my office is getting more efficient working remotely. They have to communicate “on the record”.
Not quite, it stops tree pollen, which makes a lot of us miserable this time of year, and it stops the droplets you breathe out from spreading to other people, greatly reducing the chances of picking up the disease if both people are wearing one. There is still the problem of viruses that have hitched a ride on particulate pollution, but everyone wearing these cuts the chances of getting this disease from everyday interactions as well as helping a lot with seasonal allergies.
Also the quilters cotton with 180 thread count or better are slightly better than the factory produced masks with over 70% the flannel in one layer with woven Cotten is ok, two layers of cotton is better than that, which I believe is 50% for the one, better for the two. Crappy bandanas are where you get your 4%
Two layers of flannel
Not going to wear a mask. Nope nope nopity-nope.
Its only as enforceable as the jails are full. Bet all the gangs are loving it though. “ Have you seen these eyes? They are wanted in a multiple killings, rapes and robberies”
Sorry - I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask. Unfortunately, HIPPA laws prohibit anyone from asking any questions about my medical condition.
Chris Sununu is my Governor in New Hampshire . He basicly said we can open up for business when Charlie baker tells us we can. They are going to treat all of New England like 1 state. Everything together. New England needs a revolution.
And Charlie Baker will wait for instructions from Cuomo or Marty Walsh.
