The campaign of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has repeatedly insisted that journalists "rigorously vet" the claims of former Biden staffer Tara Reade, who alleges she was sexually harassed while working in Biden's Senate office and sexually assaulted by Biden in 1993.
But Biden is refusing to allow public access to his senatorial archives, even though they may contain records that could shed light on Reade's accusations and as his campaign operatives have accessed the papers in the past year.
Reade first came forward on a podcast last month to detail her assault allegations against the former vice president. Since then, she has told multiple outlets, including Insider, that Biden pushed her up against a wall, reached under her skirt, and penetrated her with his fingers in spring or summer 1993.
Earlier this week, Reade's former neighbor Lynda LaCasse told Insider that Reade had discussed the assault allegations with her in the mid-'90s.

LOL. Berger acted disgracefully. He pretty much became persona non grata after that stunt. How do you explain that to your kids? That you snuck classified memos out in your socks?
Why should access to the official documents and records of any politician be restricted?
They are representatives of the citizens, supposedly doing work in the interest of the nation and the citizens they represent.
They have no intrinsic right to cloak records of their job related activities and conduct in secrecy.
They only reason they want to restrict access is to cover up wrongdoing, embarrassing behavior and criminality.
Only legitimate information having to do with national security should be restricted.
And it should not be left to the politicians or their staffs to make that determination.
Most of them cannot be trusted as far as you could throw them with a broken arm.
AND underwear.
Wheres Sandy Burger ?
Given that there are records of crimes committed by both sides in those files, they will never see the light of day unless something earth-shattering happens.
Indeed. Bill Clinton taught the daughters of our country that a BJ wasn’t really sex.
Conservatives need to get an immediate “Preservation Order” for all Biden’s records but esp. those at the Un. of Delaware.
This would also apply to the National Archives, State archives, etc.
Access to them must be limited, under guard, and videotaped. Otherwise things will start to disappear very quickly at the Un. of Delaware and box inventory lists will be changed.
Believe me, I know about Preservation Orders as I was responsible for starting the ball rolling on one of the biggest POs in the country. Prevented thousands of boxes of federal records from being destroyed and saved in place or moved via GSA to the National Archives.
In one case, the GSA people were great, efficient and very concerned that Archives/Regional records were going to be destroyed without any public notice (some had decades old retention/destruction schedules in existence but never carried out). Military lawyers also were of a great help in even earlier preservation orders for their materials stored by the Archives Records Centers.
Many of these records were/are worth tens/hundreds of millions of dollars or more in pending/future federal environmental litigation cases. The arrogance of a handful of idiots at the National Archives got some DOJ attorneys/upper echelon DOJ legal beagles really pissed off to the point that they threatened to take the Archives/officials to court unless they put in immediately Preservation/Retention Orders/Schedules. They did because they didn’t want to go to jail. A story with a happy ending!
I bet they had one of those Shred-It vans outside too. What a pant load of BS
Another Sandy Berger heist!
Saved me the trouble of looking up the pants burglar...
