Yup. SOP. But we should treat it as a ‘bombshell’ because that should not be normal and the general public has no idea about the way law enforcement behaves — entrapment, overcharging, civil asset forfeiture, etc etc.
Which is why you should NEVER, EVER say anything to them (or any other LEOs) other than “Do I have the right to remain silent?”
