Nearly all the lawyers touting the “routine” line have at least peripheral connections to the Deep State.

They’re simply trying to protect their team.

I remember a time when the left hated the fact that big govt spied in its citizens

If this is routine for those agencies disband then and start over

Which is why you should NEVER, EVER say anything to them (or any other LEOs) other than “Do I have the right to remain silent?”

No; the left hated the fact that government spied on terrorists.

Although I’m pleased for General Flynn, until the perp walks begin, having learned from hard experience and expectation this tale remains of only passing interest to me.

I heard they already had a transcript of his conversation with the Russian, and didn’t show it to him in advance of questioning. If true, how did they get a transcript? Was it wire tapped? Nice job FBI, its routine.

The FBI, in Mueller’s Boston office, wrongly prosecuted and wrongly convicted 4 men they knew were innocent for murder, in some part to protect Whitey Bulger (who mysteriously was beaten to death after being transferred unexpectedly to a new prison during the Mueller investigation of Trump). Those innocent men rotted in jail for decades. Two of them died in prison. They were innocent. The taxpayers paid out $100 million in restitution.

Then they made Mueller head of the FBI.

Then special prosecutor of Trump.

Not a peep from the so-called “civil libertarians”.

Considering the “lawyers” who were interviewed for this BS, classic fake news......

The article points out that the attorney that thought the tactics were bad testified against impeachment. They don’t say he voted against Trump. The others that thought it was SOP background was unidentified, lawyers for the whistle blower (anti-Trump) or CNN (LOL).

Opinion disguised as journalism.

Of course it was routine. That does not release the thugs from the charge of treason.

And why is Wray not charged with obstruction of justice when he hides evidence?

Question: Are these set up and entrapment tactics illegal or are they used frequently by US intelligence agencies?

Answer: Both.

A retired agent told me the felony of lying to an agent is derived from the crime of lying on a federal document or application. Like lying on a social security application. He said years ago the Bureau realized how they could use it to go after people they did not have real evidence against. It is much more effective than the impeding investigation misdameanors local LEOs use.

I will add, the article doesn’t question if this was the approach the FBI used in questioning Hillary.

Since entrappment of innocent people and forcing confessions by threatoning thier families is routine, we need just need more prisons for all the fbi agents.
