So...the fact that every single person he met in the hospital except him was wearing a mask wasn't a giveaway?
Ehh - it was an honest mistake and if it was such a health violation for the clinic why didnt they point it out?
I think what really happened is that he had it on for most of the visit and took it off for the photo op because some bloody in the entourage pointed out it wouldnt look good and then put it back on after.
Thats why mayo deleted the tweet.
Plus, Pence himself said this before his wife stepped in it:
"When the CDC issued guidelines about wearing a mask, it was their recognition that people that may have the coronavirus could prevent the possibility of conveying the virus to someone else by wearing a mask," he said.
"And since I don't have the coronavirus, I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to be here, to be able to speak to these researchers, these incredible healthcare personnel, and look them in the eye and say thank you."
So he clearly understood but made the decision that he didnt think he needed to wear one.
But does wearing a mask makes it impossible to look people in the eye? Those people he was looking in the eye were all wearing masks. VP Pence and his wife also said he was regularly tested (at least once a week). But do they not understand that being tested does not give one immunity nor does being tested regularly guarantee that one hasnt become infected after their last test?
