A California deputy is under investigation, and has been reassigned outside the police department, after a disturbing viral video showed him punching and choking a teenage boy during an arrest, authorities said.
The Rancho Cordova Police Department and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced an “investigation into the use of force by our deputy” after a video of the April 27 incident posted on Twitter on Tuesday received more than two million views and was shared by former Democratic presidential candidates Julian Castro and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA).

Doesn’t help when, for example, our Sheriff hires fired cops and the State/local police hire fired Deputies. Slam me if you want, but my neighbors and I have experienced too many of these trigger-happy thugs. Either they don’t even understand the law, or they just don’t care about it.
The cop didn’t choke “the child” — I didn’t see anything at all like that. How would you handle a kid fighting back? The heavy cop sat on his back and restrained him.
There is zero reason why a police officer should be allowed to punch anyone unless it’s in self defense. Clearly a 14 year old boy is no threat to this officer. Cops who have the inability to control thier punching skills should just quit and join an MMA club so they can feel what it’s like to be punched back!

With all the fear talk about “Big Brother” I have seen nothing but benefits from all the cameras nowadays.
TV shows like “The First 48”, “See No Evil”, COPS, LIVE PD, Live PD Presents: PD Cam, etc. All show exactly what happened or didn’t happen and catches and convicts criminals.
Exonerates or eliminates suspects. All good, no bad that I see.

Actually, it can. Look up Kelly Thomas beating from Fullerton CA. The defense attorneys used the video to exonerate 3 or 4 cops who beat an *unarmed*, mentally ill Thomas to death while he cried for his Dad. No one capable of being impartial thought what the cops did was legitimate. He wasn't even recognizable while in ICU before he died.
