Still unsure why they cannot teleconference/telecommute.
I think they are afraid if the people of the US realize they do not have to BE in DC, they will lose plush accommodations, expense reports and the “coolness” of living in the good part of DC.
Same reason everyone should vote in person on the day of the election with ID.
Because of the Constitution. Read it sometime.
