Notice how he had to throw in the 'barb' about the higher infection rate at the end of the tweet. Doesn't a higher infection rate (which likely includes many asymptomatic cases) indicate that we have a lower overall death rate since the denominator in the deaths divided by infections ratio is higher?

What apology? This is the way he should have apologized: 1.) Start with, “I was wrong.” (Not someone else said I was wrong. 2.) State, what he was wrong about, “I was wrong about saying South Korea numbers were better than the United States, and President Trump had the correct numbers. I implied that President Trump was wrong.” “However ... 3.) State again, “I was wrong”. 4.) Show sincerity and contrition, “For this I am very sorry”. 5.) End it right there. Don’t say anything more. He needs to shut his pie hole.

For Walker to apologise was commendable.

Everyone should make a correction and apologise when he has made a mistake. This should be routine--in fact, knee-jerk--for all news reporters, as for all decent people.
