You are 4.8 times more likely to die of Covid-19 if your Governor is a Democrat. (Vanity)

While all of those numbers may be true (I’m assuming), they miss the actual, and medically/socially meaningful correlation—population density. Big cities are much more susceptible to the ravages of communicable disease, which includes both Covid-19 and Progressive Democrafascism.

Spread ‘em out, folks; stop cramming people in cheek by jowl.

Yesterday, was looking at the deaths in each state...

Doing some rough math in my head, it looks like just about two-thirds of the US deaths are in 4 states, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Connecticut...

The New York Tri-State area up through Boston...

The other third (~19,000 souls) are scattered across the rest of the fruited plain...

Could it be that the Chi-Com virus really started in NY & Boston?

With so many deaths concentrated in a single state (or two) - NY and NJ, this is ironically a good explanation for why a national popular vote is a really bad idea for the USA, ironically enough.

Find me a data source for all 50 states and I’ll run the calculator for you.
+++++
Google Coronavirus U.S. and you will find a table with links to current data for every state.

So, what 2 states are not included in your calculations?

Whoops, never mind. I missed ‘contiguous’ in the 2nd line...

Correlation is not causation... usually.
+++++
Quite true. But the strong correlation is population density and that makes sense. So it is the big cities that tend to dominate the data. And the Dems run the states with the big cities. Poorly.

But this is an excellent post. Real data. Real facts.

It will be interesting to apply this same technique to the recovery phase we are about to enter. The Dems will stall and pay for it. The Pubbies will go back to work. Guess who wins that one.

It’s because they have denied HCQ and caused tons of needless deaths, but they hated Trump so it’s all good.

They should correlate those who get chloroquine versus those who do not.

A really excellent analysis. You should repost this thread every couple of weeks.

Things are going to be changing as the Republic Governors send people back to work and the Democrat Governors enjoy and expand their newly found power to suppress the economy.

You might consider tracking state level unemployment rates to measure the economic trends. I expect you will see Republic states pulling out of this much faster than those run by the Dems.

Maybe correlation = causation is true.........................

At least strong evidence in this case.

...but it is, this time.

... you got my second meaning. Dem party support and leadership, makes sense as an aggregate variable. That is, if you are a Democrat, you likely fit into a known variety of sterotypes in ways that are likely to affect your susceptibility to the virus.

That is not to say there aren't some conservatives who hit a few negative stereotypes, but not as often as the Dems do.

What if your governor just acts like a democrat?

I’m actually sick right now with bronchitis. Doctor said I could get the test if I wanted but he thinks I’m clear.

Democrat Governors are currently elected to head 22 states

What is your source of state data?

Honestly cannot recall which website it was from, but I was looking at a map of Governors in 2019. How many are there? On my spreadsheet that I put together, I have Dem Govs in ME, NY, NJ, CT, RI, DE, VA, MI, PA, NC, IL, LA, WI, MN, KS, CO, MT, NM, NV, CA, OR, and WA. (and HI, but I was only using the contiguous states for the Covid data, since Alaska is clearly an outlier for the land area and thus the population density figures.) That's the 22.

(No real surprises in the list aside from MT and KS. More shocking that MD and MA are GOP Governors, lol)
